Helping First Responders, Veterans and Frontline Workers... heal

As a First Responder myself (EMT-B and Dispatcher for private ambulance company), this idea that I am passionate about is for a non-profit farm for First Responders, veterans and Frontline workers to heal from PTSD and traumas.  While working on a farm/nursery setting in Eastern Oregon, they develop, heal, and work through their traumas while re-connecting with the basics. This farm/garden center is the 'heart' of the entire business because it will bring abused horses and canines also into the healing process by being assigned a person that will take care of them, they both begin to learn to trust and re-connect with their surrounding better. The program is 30 - 60 days for each client, depending on the severity of the case. We will offer transportation to outpatient rehab that is local in the area when needed. We invite a family member to come with them to the farm, because even their support system needs added support and coping skills that they will learn while there. Living quarters will be assigned to each client in a dorm - type setting. The main house on the property is where the offices for the support staff will be.
