Hospice is a Medicare covered service that provides end of life/comfort care to patients with a terminal diagnosis and a prognosis of 6 months or less. This service comes at no cost to patients and their families. Hospice offers 24/7 medical support for patient needs such as pain & symptom management, chaplain and medical social worker visits for spiritual, emotional and bereavement support. We have home health aids to assist with personal hygiene care, bathing, changing, feeding, toileting and such. We have doctors and NP's on staff as well. We provide medical equipment such as hospital beds, wheelchairs and specialty oxygen equipment as needed in addition to supplies like wipes, briefs/adult diapers and several other specialty items to care for patients during the most vulnerable time of their lives.
Indelible Care Hospice will be servicing the Monterey, Santa Cruz and San Benito counties for the first couple of years with plans of expanding to several Bay Area locations in 2-3 years or less. We have very strong relationships with marketing and clinical staff in the Central Coast and Bay Area markets which is why we feel extremely confident in the success of our business.
My business partner and I launched a hospice branch with our current employer 5 years ago. We were able to grow it from zero to 120 census and over 10,000,000 in annual revenue.
We currently co-manage 5 hospice branches which currently generate over 50,0000,000 in revenue annually. It is because of this experience and the success we have had that we feel confident in our abilities to launch our very own hospice agency. The great majority of our patients happen to be Medicare age. The average hospice patient in the U.S. is over 80 years old. According to Medicare data less then 20% of patients 65 years and older who pass away do so without the benefit of hospice which means over 80% of Medicare patients who could have benefited from our services never get the chance to do so. While every other agency is focused on the same 20% of patients who are already getting hospice services Indelible Care Hospice will focus its efforts on the 80% who are not. According to the Population Reference Bureau, the U.S. population aged 65 years and above is expected to reach 95 million by 2060 from 52 million in 2018 which means we will be adding over 1 million new seniors 65 and older to the population every year for the next 42 years.
We would really appreciate the opportunity to present a more detailed business plan which we have put together.
