Working with MIT and Johns Hopkins, we have made major strides in building an AI system to diagnose prostate cancer using a range of sensors and artificial olfaction devices.

Working with MIT and Johns Hopkins, we have made significant progress in diagnosing prostate cancer using advanced AI techniques coupled with gas chromatography and mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Now looking to adapt our techniques to artificial olfaction devices to detect other forms of cancer. The relevant paper has been accepted by PLOS ONE where it will appear shortly. In short, we have already improved detection accuracy from the 59% offered by PSA to nearly 75%.

IEI Health is a company being incubated by its parent corporation , Imagination Engines Inc., which is headed by Dr. Stephen Thaler, an AI pioneer who has generated over two dozen patents in generative artificial neural networks.  He has worked with major corporations, licensing his patents and entering into joint ventures and contracts with them.  He is now planning to apply his latest patent, nicknamed "DABUS," to allow unprecedented levels of sensor integration to detect a wide variety of diseases.

Thaler completed a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Missouri-Columbia, in 1981, thereafter working for McDonnell Douglas for 15 years. He holds patents in diverse fields ranging from laser-driven diamond growth, high-energy laser warfare, stealth technology, and advanced AI techniques, the latest of which utilizes an electro-optical system to invent and create new technologies (see for instance, The Artificial Inventor Project).

Our main consultant in the area of artificial olfaction is Dr. Andreas Mershin, Director of the Label-Free Research Group at MIT's Center for Bits and Atoms. He is considered to be one of the world's most renown experts in this field and routinely relies upon IEI's 40 years of experience in AI and artificial neural networks.

So far, our business model has been one of consulting, both to the universities involved and major corporations investing in the necessary sensors. We plan to marry our AI system to an olfaction device being developed by a well funded Silicon Valley company which will then be our primary customer. (More information available upon request.)
