The Problem
• Toxins in cleaning, disinfecting and healthcare products
• Products that are supposed to protect us contain skin, eye & inhalation irritants
• Single-use plastic wipes
• e.g. the Calgary Board of Education produces 2 tonnes of plastic waste per month
• Non-recyclable plastic packaging
• >50% of plastic packaging is comprised of non-recyclable flexible laminates
• Non-local
• there are no flexible wipes manufacturers in Western Canada
The Solution (part 1)
It started with a chemistry innovation for Oil & Gas that had many health applications... hypochlorous acid (HOCl):
• Native to all mammals (i.e. hypoallergenic)
• Disinfectant/antiseptic (kills unwanted bacteria, viruses & fungi – 100 times
more effective than bleach)
• A well documented wound healing agent
• An effective deodorizer
Although HOCl has been used and researched since the early 1900’s, until recently it wasn’t possible to produce it in a stable form with a long shelf life.
The Solution (part 2)
A chemical & wipes manufacturing facility in Red Deer (early 2021) with versatile manufacturing & white labeling capability.
Built with a sustainability vision – “hypo” in Greek means “less than normal”. We’re called Hypoindustries because we are striving for:
- Less toxins
- Less plastics packaging
- Less plastics waste
- Less transportation (made local)
The Solution (part 3)
To demonstrate sustainable wipe & chemistry options to B2B clients we launched our own B2C-focused SENS.health eco-brand to lead the way. Launching in early October....
a healthy solution.
We believe it's possible to create products that make sense for both people and the planet. All of our products are made using pure natural ingredients, scientifically proven to be highly effective, and packaged sustainably.
Healthy for people. Healthy for the planet. It just makes SENS.
