HOT MESS COFFEE & COCKTAILS / OPERATION SALUTE
Hot Mess Coffee & Cocktails is now going Mobile and has teamed up with Operation Salute (Non-Profit for Veterans) and will start attending local and regional events. (Concerts, Biker Rally's, NASCAR, Rodeo's, etc.)
We have expanded our menu to serve both Coffee & Cocktails. Our cocktails are not your typical everyday mixed drinks, we've worked hard to create new and exciting drinks that will get event goers coming back for more.
When making the decision to move forward with expanding to events, we had several objectives in mind:
- Taste & Selection: We wanted to have a limited but superior selection of drinks, which is why it is imperative that each and every drink we serve is outstanding in taste and presentation. For this reason, we have spent the last couple months testing out different recipes and trying them out on various groups for feedback. Thanks to the feedback of our "tasters", we now feel that we have a solid foundation of drinks to please all, from the those who enjoy a sweeter drink to those who prefer something spicy, sour or even salty.
- Presentation: Although our drinks will be in a standard 20 oz clear plastic cup, we have a special ingredient that we add to each drink that truly makes it stand out from the rest and will definitely turn heads, especially when the sun goes down.
- Speed & Consistency: We are able to pre-mix the majority of our drinks and keep them chilling in a refrigerator ready to be poured over a glass of ice, garnished and served. Our process ensures that each drink is consistent in taste and allows us to be extremely quick & efficient. With that said, we have the ability to serve more clients per hour than your typical concession trailer. (We can process payment and have a drink in a customers hand within 20-30 seconds.
- Samples: We will offer a 4 oz sample size for all alcoholic drinks, this will allow event goers, if they prefer, to purchase a small sample of one or even several of our drinks to taste before deciding which drink they want to order.
- Reasoning for offering samples is simple: My husband has years of experience at these types of events and over the years he has tested the sampling process out on several different occasions and said the feedback that he gets is always the same. When a customer has an opportunity to sample something first, even if they have to pay for that sample, they are more likely to make a purchase and more importantly be satisfied with their purchase. Happy customers come back for more and usually they bring friends.
- Brand Awareness:
- Our Trailer will be wrapped with our "Hot Mess Coffee & Cocktails" logo and website address (Website is currently being built), along with the logo and website of our Non-Profit Foundation for Veterans (Operation Salute).
- Apparel: We are currently in the process of designing several different t-shirts that will be available for purchase at the events
- Other items that we plan to market test at the first couple of events; hats & insulated tumblers with logo
- Partnerships:
- As of August 1st, my husband finalized our first partnership with an Oklahoma based Beef Jerky company. Reasoning for this partnership is simple, the "Bloody Mary" drink that we make is garnished with a single stick of their Beef Jerky and since we use their product for one of our drinks, we contacted them to see if they were interested in a partnership. Fortunately, they were looking to expand as well, therefore we were able to negotiate a deal and In exchange for promoting and selling their product at events, they are supplying us with their product "At production Cost".
- Due to some of the other products we use, we are currently working on a couple other partnerships as well, however we haven't finalized anything else yet.
Cross-Promotion:
Each event that we attend will be a Cross-Promotion between "Hot Mess Coffee & Cocktails" And "Operation Salute". Both organizations serve a purpose for the other.
- HOT MESS Coffee & Cocktails:
- Creates an additional and much more lucrative revenue stream than our brick and mortar location.
- Covers the cost of attending events for both organizations and therefore will be the lead sponsor of "Operation Salute"
- OPERATION SALUTE: Is a Non-Profit for Veterans formed by my husband and several Veterans (501c3 status is currently being processed & Website currently being built)
- A couple months ago my husband was contacted by one of his clients, who is a 100% disabled Vet. He was sick and tired of dealing with the bureaucracy of the VA and he wanted to do something about it, therefore he asked my husband to help him with creating a non-profit to support the Veterans. My husband loved the idea so much that he jumped at the opportunity, his is now Chairman of the board and is leading the initial project.
- Primary Objective of the non-profit: Following is a basic overview of the non-profit
- Provide Housing For Veterans: With my husband's experience in Real Estate, he is working on a project to create short & long term housing options for our Veterans.
- Currently they are working on a variety of different programs/ideas for different ways to assist our Veterans.
- Once the website is complete, veterans will have the ability to fill out an online form requesting assistance directly
- Year 1 - 85% of every dollar raised is to go toward supporting Veterans (Year 2 - Projecting 90%+)
- I won't go into any further detail about the non-profit on here, but if you would like to know more about it, I would be more than happy to get you in contact with my husband to explain it in more detail.
Sponsorships:
Over the next several weeks, we will begin working on securing Sponsorships with various different companies who support our cause of helping Veterans.. Although the sponsorships that we secure will be supporting the non-profit, their support will benefit both the non-profit and Hot Mess Coffee & Cocktails. Sponsorships should help to cover some of the overhead costs involved with attending some of these events. Since our non-profit is a new foundation, it may take me some time to secure sponsorships with some of the larger companies, but I am confident that we will be able to secure several large sponsorships over the next 3-6 months.
Plans For Our Yearly Event Schedule:
- Minimum of 1 large scale event each month (attendance of 50K or above)
- Minimum of 2 mid-size event each month (attendance between 20K-50K)
- If no mid-size or large events are available, we may possibly fill the schedule with a couple smaller events
- Smaller events will only be attended if the cost associated with attending can be justified
Following are just some of the Events that we plan to attend on a yearly basis:
We plan to attend a minimum of 30 events in 2024:
- Rocklahoma - Oklahoma
- Lake of the Ozarks Bikefest - Missouri
- Born & Raised Music Festival - Oklahoma
- Sturgis Biker Rally - South Dakota
- NASCAR - Texas (2 annual events)
- Lone Star Rally - Texas
- Oklahoma State Fair / Texas State Fair
- Sparks Biker Rally - Oklahoma
Event Trailer is a 30' V-Nose Trailer:
- 20' of the trailer is enclosed and setup as an concession Trailer
- 10' of the trailer is an open porch concept and will be utilized by the non-profit.
- The open space will allow for various different setups depending on the type of show we're attending.
- Also depending on the type of sponsorships that I secure, we hope to have different items to raffle off for our non-profit, such as a motorcycle, side-by-side, etc. This open space will allow us to transport those giveaways to our events.
- The trailer will have a speaker system that will allow us to communicate with event goers as they pass by our booth.
Experience:
I have a solid team working alongside of me, they have the knowledge and experience to assist me in making this a successful operation.
- A'Lana Beal (Owner/Operator) - Owner/Operator of the coffee shop since 2019 | Owner/Operator of Java House Realty (Realtor since 2016, became a Broker in 2021)
- Chad Beal (Marketing/Promotion Director) - He has over 10 years of experience in event promotions and has organized and attended many large scale events across the country, such as Sturgis Biker Rally, Laconia Motorcycle Week, PBR, NASCAR, Rocklahoma, etc. He was a National Marketing Manager and oversaw a staff of 500+.
- Barista's/Bartender's - Two of my daughters work for me and are my shift leaders, they have been working at the coffee shop for 6+ years (they were even working there before I purchased the business). All other team members have experience serving drinks and working out of a trailer as well.
- Non-Profit Team Members:
- The CEO of our non-profit is a 100% Disabled Veteran, he will be attending the events with us to help promote the non-profit and raise funds for our Veterans.
How Funds Will Be Utilized:
- Pay off Trailer - Event Trailer has been ordered and will arrive in approximately 3 weeks. We did secure a loan from our bank for the purchase of the trailer, but due to current interest rates, we would prefer to get it paid off asap.
- Inventory - Some of the events that we will be attending are large scale events and attendance can easily reach 100K+. For this reason, we will need a back up supply of inventory to ensure that we don't run out of anything at an event.
- Apparel - As an added revenue stream, we will be selling apparel for both "Hot Mess Coffee & Cocktails" & "Operation Salute". We plan to simply start off with t-shirts, but plan to expand to other items as we grow.
- Event Deposits - For best placement at events, it is best to secure your spot as early as possible. My husband, the Marketing Director, as he has done in the past will typically spend the months of December and January planning out the events for an entire year. Doing so, for the larger events, requires that a contract be signed and deposit made to secure a spot.
What we can offer an Investor:
- Concerning ROI for an Investor:
- ROI for Investor: Whether interested in a short or long term investment, we are flexible and open to negotiate terms to satisfy all parties involved.
- Possible Collateral, if needed:
- Real Estate: We own the building where our brick & mortar coffee shop is located (est. value: $125K)
- Equipment: If we secure an investor and are able to pay for the trailer in full, the trailer can also be used as collateral (est. value: $40K | with all equipment: $50K+)
- We have a second trailer that can be used as collateral as well (est. value: $10K)
Our drinks, along with our presentation and the atmosphere that we provide at events is unmatched and will set us apart from other vendors.
