Introduction
I have series of industry validated UAV Drone/sUAS aircraft that are ready to be commercialize. These scalable high-speed fixed-wing vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft can serve in plethora of mission sets such as package delivery, geospatial mapping and inspections, border and maritime security, relief and support missions and many humanitarian efforts (Doctors without Borders, etc). They are more than twice as fast as any rotorcraft counterpart. They use half the fuel/energy in total mission flight that conventional rotorcraft, and can achieve at least four times the range as rotorcraft in performing same missions (typically far more). In addition, they need a fraction of the maintenance of conventional rotorcraft per flight hour, whether as a full scale airframe or sub-scale drone airframe.
I am currently working toward completion of an optimized sub-scale POC airframe that will fly this summer (of 2024) and demonstrate a multiple deliver mission with the ease of use and higher flight efficiencies and flexible flight field operations that are possible with my VTOL airframe configurations. This next phase will be the ramp-up and preparation of a facility and personnel to begin production and deliveries of at least three versions of these Drone/UAV systems. We will offer training and support, as well as custom airframe design to meet anyone's needs for a truly high-speed VTOL parameter airframe.
My heart mission for these aircraft is that they serve as more the latter part of the mission sets described above. To see them shine as superior supply/package deliver systems as the safest, most efficient version of themselves. I hope to see them serve in countless missionary, medical, and humanitarian relief and supply type missions. Their commercial uses and strategic military advantages are rather obvious, and I will certainly also enjoy providing our country with the best tools that way too, I truly hope to see these aircraft systems providing better, safer, and faster delivery, scanning/surveying, and patrol efforts as their primary missions.
Brief Projects History
I started an aircraft development firm (Morgan Aircraft LLC) to get through the validation phases and to optimize first functional autonomous sub-scale drone airframes. We raised over $12MM and spent a little over 8 years working through the development and optimizations of the best versions of these airframes. I have worked with the likes of Dr. Ken Rosen; former Vice-President of Engineering and Research at Sikorsky Aircraft and many of his team. Ken is still one of my most trusted advisors to the project along with many of his team. Dr. Hsin Hua Tsuei is my lead aerodynamicist and is renowned in the industry for his accomplishments in computational fluid dynamics and aircraft performance analysis. We were awarded several patents surrounding the unique configurations of these airframes and for the principles and methods of slow-speed flight control and stability... which is critical for any VTOL aircraft during transition periods. We were able to get the projects to Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 4 per government guidelines and checklists.
Unfortunately the projects and original company had to come to a halt in early 2013 due to lack of funding and of ongoing/new commitments post 2008-09 market challenges. I spent the next few years personally continuing the development and testing of the final iterations of one of the sub-scale versions of the airframes. In that time I formed a small aerial services company... Morgan Geospatial... to also help fund the ongoing development and testing, and to keep me abreast of updating and ongoing technology updates in the industry. I rebranded the original projects begun with Morgan Aircraft under a new entity name... VOX Aircraft LLC... with a friend and silent partner. VOX Aircraft exists as an interim holding company of all the projects' accomplishment and to help to complete final demonstrators and partnerships to make the leap to production sub-scale aircraft systems. I am at the crossroads now. I am ready to take on a new financial/equity partnership that will allow me to fund an effective and meaningful merger of my drone services company with VOX. This will allow me to focus once again at fulltime commitment to launching these projects into production and finally monetizing these airframes and systems and services to their fullest potentials.
Fast-Forward to Today
I have joined this platform in the hopes of finding a likeminded partner(s) that will join me in this effort financially and practically (being in the same space and having like familiarity and contacts as well). I have a detailed 24 month plan to meet this goal (18 month completion plan with contingencies and product delivery preparations thought through as well). I hope to raise sufficient capital in short order to begin executing these latest by the start of Q3 this year. I have personnel ready to commit, general location and potential facilities identified, and suppliers and contractors ready to dig in. The new merger will create an expanded Morgan Geospatial which is already performing services in this space, including design and building of custom UAV airframes for various customers. It will be a natural progression for it to "acquire" VOX and it's proven tech in order to offer up it's own proprietary, highly capable and complete Drone/UAV and sUAS systems. I will serve at the Chief Engineer and Programs Director. Dr. Rosen will remain a primary advisor along with others, and his company (ASTA) will continue to provide consulting services. Dr. Tsuei will also continue to serve as my lead aerodynamicist and aircraft performance expert. Other key employees and consultants are working with me now and are ready to join the efforts full time once funding is in place. I look forward to discussing the deeper plans and details with new partners and bringing these projects to fruition and service as soon as possible.
Farther Future
As a totally scalable platform and in fact parametrically validated up to larger scale Group-3 UAV classes (GVW 7500lbs), and also up to a GVW 16,500lb 2+8 business jet configuration, I hope and pray that the successfully expanded Morgan Geospatial and drone sales and services, can bootstrap into the larger scale manned airframes in the subsequent years as well!!
