The Offerings
High Road is the brainchild of renowned chefs Russell Dougherty and Ryan Wilson, along with the creative operating team behind the highly successful Cavalier in East Austin.
Nestled in the vibrant heart of South Austin, High Road is more than just a restaurant - it’s a full service delicatexan, cafe, and bar. Our menu boasts gourmet sandwiches and handcrafted sausages that are a perfect marriage of tradition and innovation, showcasing the culinary prowess of our esteemed chefs.
But that's not all; our elevated coffee and bar programs enhance the guest experience, offering a curated selection of premium roasts, and craft cocktails.
Join us at High Road for a culinary adventure that transcends expectations and celebrates the effusive spirit of South Austin.
The Space
The low profile, vintage flat iron edifice of High Road’s home invites a sense of neighborliness nestled in the heart of South Austin’s
Bouldin Creek enclave.
Just like the surrounding area along the “hippie highway” corridor, this is not an exclusive community - rather a welcoming one.
Curl up in a corner of our landscaped patio to clutch your coffee and people watch. Or grab a gourmet sandwich with a friend and gab the day away in a retro booth. Not up for a hang? Take away our vast array of housemade deli items to enjoy later.
From cowboy boots to crocs, loafers to lace-ups, all walks of life are welcome in our pen.
The Culinary Program
Gourmet sandwiches, stacked high, and oozing with flavor are the centerpiece of this sandwich and sausage shop.
Handcrafted meats and sausages from our master salumist, plus vegetarian options and house-curated deli items balance the menu offerings.
Led by Russell Dougherty and Ryan Wilson, our culinary team has strong leadership and management experience, in addition to their creative passion for making every meal memorable, and even better than the last.
The Beverage Program
Guests spend their early day at High Road sipping on roasts from our carefully curated coffee program.
Afternoons are indulged with homemade Violet Crown soft serve (inspired by Michigan’s “Blue Moon” ice cream).
Happy Hours and evenings are spent with luscious artisanal beverages in hand from our full bar program thoughtfully crafted by Beverage Director, Chadwick Leger.
Complete coffee service, made-to-order lunch options, and crafted cocktails lend a refined but relaxed air to the retro decor that highlights the beauty of this unique space.
Take Away
Our consumer packaged goods program offers guests an opportunity to enjoy
High Road’s culinary creations at home and beyond.
Take away hand crafted meats, artisan breads, shelf-stable sauces, bottles of wine, and more from our “delicatexan”.
Perfect for hosting parties, planning picnics, or as unique gifts.
