According to the CDC, businesses in the U.S. lose approximately $225.8 billion each year due to workers not showing up—a loss that averages out to about $1,685 per employee.
HelpLink is a tech-enabled social enterprise designed to meet individual basic needs through a collaboration between businesses, employees, and nonprofit organizations. Our primary focus is to remove barriers to work by offering a fully automated corporate giving tool to businesses, helping them utilize some of the charitable donations they're already making to prioritize their own employees' basic needs.
We have three distinct advantages:
1. Every dollar a company spends to assist their employees is also a dollar donated to local charities. Other companies do not provide direct individual impact.
2. HelpLink is the fulfillment service for each need, delivering goods and services instead of cash, ensuring the need is actually met. Other companies simply move money around, usually from an individual or organization to a nonprofit organization.
3. Our thank-you and impact report systems create a feedback loop, dispatching nebulous donations and creating virality around giving. Completing the circle allows us to prove to the penny how funds were spent and what the true impact was.
I started developing the platform as a way to directly impact individuals in your area through charitable giving because I wasn't satisfied with the often nebulous methods of giving to charity available in the marketplace. When I met my cofounder, she shared her experience that through her nonprofit, she'd met over 100,000 needs and over 30% of them were work-related. With this information, we decided to focus on helping companies help their employees with the charitable donations they're already making.
I am a technical founder with over a decade of software business experience and multiple exits. My most recent success is the sale of nationwide surgical asset tracking system QMAP in summer of 2023.
