OVERVIEW

We need about $100,000 start-up capital,  to formalize our business documents and rent a showroom  in Canada,  in Vancouver of British Columbia specifically, for minerals imported from Zambia.  Our company Heavy Auto & Mining Limited has been issued with three Mineral Trade Permits, for trading in gemstones , mineral ores , and precious metals respectively, which allows us to trade in these commodities in Zambia, in terms of buying from local producers and exporting them for a profit to Canada or elsewhere.

As matter of fact, we have been in contact with some jewelers or lapidaries in Kitchener in Eastern Canada, who expressed interest to purchase rough Zambian emeralds for instance, as they are of the highest quality other than the Colombian emeralds. However, the said buyers are not interested in buying direct shipments from Zambia, as this will mean them getting involved in the customs duty procedures and other costs, as well as other risks. The general feeling out there, is that we should have our company and our products in Canada, then they will choose for themselves or ascertain what they want, and buy from us.

It is therefore our considered view that we can start small with a minimum of $100,000, bringing in rough gemstones like diamonds, emeralds, rubies, tourmalines, citrines, amethyst, and quartz whose volumes and weight manageable, but with high values. After which we hope to expand to mineral ores (copper, manganese, iron, lead, zinc), and precious metals (gold, silver, nickel) once we are able to forge right partnerships. The monies will be spent on re-registration of the company in Canada, consultation, rentals, branding, display, and initial stocks.

DEMAND AND PROFITABILITY
The highlighted commodities are scarce and highly sought after, as such there is a ready market from the lapidaries, middlemen, and jewelry stores in major cities of Canada and the USA. Moreover, we are sure that we will be able to recoup a net profit of not less than 20%, from every consignment that we successfully bring into the country and convert. In this context, we can assure our investors that we can settle our obligations within 10-12 months.

RISKS
Every aspect of this proposal is legitimate and legal in both the Zambian and Canadian perspectives, as such we are not envisaging any risks at all. However, precautionary measures will be put in place in terms of procurement of gemstone testing kits, use of secured couriers like DHL, and use of secured premises in Canada. In case of any unforeseen natural or unnatural calamities, the directors of the company heavy auto and mining limited, who are both resident in Canada for the next five years, will take responsibility. Moreover, Zambia as a country is a civil peaceful democratic state, where everyone enjoys or is bound to enjoy equal representation in terms of justice. The country has never experienced any civil war or strife and all mining activities are conducted in a safe and just environment observing the ILO equal pay for equal work policies.

PERSONAL
Heavy Auto and Mining Limited, is a partnership between Crispine Kangwa and Lilian Banda Kangwa which started off as a professional business relationship more than 20 years ago, but is now a family owned business for a husband and wife. As a couple we also run an import trade business back home in Zambia, for all our day-to-day income and expenditure needs, which started its operations in 2003.  The company heavy auto and mining was registered in 2012, as a project to expand our business horizons in production and exports, as opposed to our current business of trade or imports . Its main focus is to bring in investors for identified greenfield projects in mining of copper, manganese, lead, zinc, and iron in Zambia. Moreover, we are also premised on doing semi-processing of the said minerals, for markets in the far-east and South Africa.

Before embarking on this journey, Mr. Crispine Kangwa who is also working as the Managing Director of the two companies, worked as sales executive. MS Lilian Banda later joined in to do office management as a director. However, due to a Christian ministry involvement, we both left Zambia in 2018 to do a formal training in South Africa, where Mr. Kangwa obtained an under-graduate degree in Theology. Another opportunity to do a post-graduate degree at Regent College of Vancouver BC came up and the family moved to Canada in January 2023. Lilian is currently  managing the import trade business as an administrator remotely, besides involvement in the ministry for the poor in Zambia.
