Headwaters Home Improvement Centre is a new hardware store in the Town of Erin in Ontario Canada. We are the only Hardware store in town currently operating out of a 4000sqft building on 1 acre located at the busiest intersection in the town. The Town of Erin is currently building a waste treatment facility to service 14,000 new homes being built over the next 1-3 years. Currently developers are clearing land and putting foundations in. Occupancy of the first 500 home will be in place by December of this year.
Headwaters Home Improvement currently offers hardware, fasteners, lawn and garden products, tools, plumbing, electrical and paint/stains through Benjamin Moore. In order for us to service this impending growth we need to add another more economical paint line as well as lumber and building materials. Other services we offer are paint matching, paint colour consultation, key cutting service, small engine repair, uhaul rental trucks and trailers and a small range of DIY and construction rental equipment. I believe strongly in a one stop shopping experience for our customers and contractors so once they walk in our door there is no reason for them to shop anywhere else.
My staff are very experienced and have industry knowledge ranging from 8 years through to 40 years. I myself have a background in Mechanical Engineering as a Technologist and have been in the manufacturing field for 30 years.
Headwaters Home Improvement currently has inventory in stock and fully paid for of just under $600,000.00 and had an average gross margin of 34%. My goal is to have projected sales of 1.3 million within 2 years and 3 million within 4 years. This will be dependent on funding to help us reach these goals. I am looking to work closely with an investor over the next 2-4 years to reach this.
Headwaters Home Improvement is a member of the Sexton buying Group and has the advantage of purchasing from over 300 vendors that all supply the big box stores at the same pricing as those stores. We are extremely competitive and ensure our pricing is either on par or slightly under those big box store so our residents do not feel the need to drive out of town to save money.
