Grace Counseling Center

Grace Counseling Center began as the dream of one woman - our founder, Cheryl Rayl.
After a long career in mental healthcare and hospital administration, she embarked on a new journey in 2009 - to build the kind of treatment facility she herself had always dreamed of running. 
It has not been an easy journey, but it has been worth the sacrifices and hard work. 
We have three locations in Texas providing mental health and substance use treatment. We are unique in that we treat the whole person. We employ a dietician, a yoga therapist and a recreational therapist in addition to licensed mental health counselors. We also treat children affected by parent or sibling addiction.
We are also a teaching clinic that proudly partners with nearby colleges and universities in mentoring the next generation of health care professionals by training young therapists and nurse practitioners. 
What we do meets an underserved need in the communities we serve. Namely, we offer health, happiness and freedom from addictions. 
We are zealous in the mission we have undertaken. 
While we are very satisfied with the work we do and have done, we want to do more. We want to take our message of healing and grace to a broader population. We want to meet addiction where it starts - in adolescence. We want to combat it where it manifests itself in the most acute way - in the jails and institutions of the criminal justice system. 
With the right kind of financial help we can do this. 
What we propose to do is send mental health professionals into schools, jails and clinical settings with the best scientific tools to help our friends and neighbors who struggle to live better lives. A core component of our strategy is to equip the teachers, corrections officers and clinicians in these facilities be better at their jobs in regards to mental health and substance use issues. We want to educate those who suffer and those who work with them every day.
