Go Play

Raising $300,000 to open a family entertainment complex.

Go Play is an indoor playground and family entertainment center. I hope to make it the number one family "place to be".  My name is Katharine Moore. My husband and I have three amazing children; at the moment they are 14, 11, and 10. We live in Union, Kentucky. I am always seeking new and fun entertainment options for my children that will get them off the couch and in to the world. Over the years, I have often wished for an indoor playground nearby that my children would enjoy even during extreme weather times.

I have a Bachelor of Science from the University of South Carolina (2000) and a Juris Doctorate from Nova Southeastern University, Shepherd Broad Law Center (2004). After passing the South Carolina Bar in 2004, I started working in human resources and practicing real estate law. I worked outside the home until we started our family in 2009. Since then, I have been a mother and home manager. When we moved to Kentucky in 2010, I started a Meetup.com group for moms and children in the area called NKY Babies and Toddlers. When the Moms Club International group opened a chapter in Ft. Wright, Kentucky, I joined that group and the members of the NKY Babies and Toddlers Meetup merged with the Moms Club chapter. When my oldest son started elementary school, I started getting involved with the parent organization at the school. I held the treasurer position of the Erpenbeck Elementary Parent Teacher Student Organization in Florence, KY, for three years and then the treasurer position with Gray Middle School Parent Teacher Student Organization for three years. I now am the Social Chair at Gray Middle School and the Hospitality Chair at Ryle High School. I served with the Erpenbeck Elementary School Based Decision-Making council, the Boone County School District’s inaugural Ambassador Program, and the Boone County School District’s Portrait of A Graduate committee.

Go Play will require full and part time employees to operate. Go Play intends to refer to employees as team members. The amount of team members needed will vary by the season. Estimated numbers include:
  • 1 full time manager to assist in daily operations.
  •  8-10 part time team members to assist with reception, play-pals, party hosts, and general daily activity.
    • During the peak of the Winter and Summer season, an additional 2-4 part time team members may be required to cover additional players.
  • The full time manager will assist the owner in opening and closing Go Play, daily bookkeeping, daily oversight of the part time team members, and other daily operations of the business.
  • The part-time team members will perform such duties as: visual inspections of equipment to look for problems or hazards; general daily cleaning; checking in and out of guests and players; assisting players and caregivers in the facility; and, assisting in enforcement of facility rules, if needed.
Go Play  is an indoor playground and imagination playscape for families or groups of people with children starting at age 6 months. The playground will allow families an entertainment area that will offer gross motor development as well as imagination and pretend play. Go Play will offer a playground with various outlets, a rock climbing wall, a rope course, and an imagination playscapes as well as a café and rooms for birthday parties and various gatherings. In the future, a trampoline park and inflatables may be added.

Go Play expects to have an estimated gross annual revenue of $500,000.00 from the sale of daily tickets, play passes, parties, and café food.

In order to acquire the building, playground equipment, imaginative play equipment, and other items to outfit Go Play, a minimum funding requirement of $300,000.00 is needed.

Thank you for your time and consideration of the Go Play plan!
