Future Proof is an AI based website with a companion augmented reality app that can perform remote surveys on individual homes, determine their risk to wildfire, wind, water and extreme heat then recommend remediation & remodeling to harden them against our expanding footprint of climate disasters .
Targeted for both the homeowner and the insurance industry our 270 billion data point system is focused on evaluating the 48 millions severe or extreme at risk properties, building a catalog of comprehensive dossiers and facilitating private and governmental financial assistance programs thus allowing for the triage of our over 50 year old housing stock. 70% of these properties carry mortgages which with the continued contraction of insurance availability will be at risk of default. The current combination of these factors is unsustainable.
Future Proof as an AI project was spun out of the Paulele Hale Association, a technology development 501(3)c company based in Hawaii which has spent seven years developing fire resistant exterior coatings for wildfire protection, construction systems for 150mph wind resilience and water generation equipment to address our changing climate.
Future Proof is set to soft launch February 10th with fire and wind simulators conducted on a specific homeowner’s residence, a Magic Window to view the climate effects on a specific census tract in the past, present and out to the year 2100 . The site is rich with numerous resources in articles from the NYT, Scientific American and original text and “how to “ videos integrated with IBM’s Watson recommendations and climate modeling systems. We assess ten level of risk across seven categories with an extensive construction library which can produce localized estimate for remediation when possible.
We believe the effects of climate change are here regardless of cause and that we need to empower homeowners, provide a high granularity , risk management tool to insurance and finance and develop a national remediation strategy. Math does not lie and time has run out to avert the severe financial consequences of the next thirty years unless we start act now both individually and collectively.
