Chole Bear Industries Inc. was inspired by my sister, Nichole—affectionately known as “Chole Bear.” Nichole sustained a severe brain injury as an infant and, now 43, lives with significant developmental disabilities. I have been one of her caregivers and closest companions since I was eight years old, giving me firsthand insight into an overlooked part of incontinence care: dignity is not only about keeping someone clean and comfortable—it is also about how a product makes them feel.
Nichole loves music, dancing, holidays, dinosaurs, football, colorful nail designs, and anything that allows her personality to shine. She frequently finds children’s pull-ups online featuring fun prints and excitedly asks me to buy them for her. I then have to explain that they simply are not made in her size. Adult incontinence products, by comparison, are overwhelmingly plain, clinical, and designed around function rather than individuality. That experience revealed the opportunity behind Chole Bear Industries.
Our goal is to develop FUNTOWEAR, a line of high-quality disposable pull-up incontinence underwear for adults and individuals with disabilities that combines reliable protection with joyful, expressive design. Collections could include dinosaurs, sports, animals, seasonal and holiday themes, original characters, and eventually appropriately licensed designs—giving consumers choices that reflect their personalities and interests rather than reminding them of a medical condition.
Chole Bear Industries is built around a simple belief: people who require incontinence products should not have to surrender individuality, confidence, or joy in exchange for protection. While the product was inspired by Nichole, the need extends far beyond her—to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, seniors, caregivers, families, residential care programs, and others seeking a more dignified alternative to traditional institutional-looking products.
We are not trying to reinvent why incontinence underwear works. We want to reinvent how people feel wearing it.
