Unique organic infant apparel gifts & toys. Owner 45 years experience in infant and child retail business.  First, I love what I do. I can't wait to go to work every day. I find that without the boss around, things do not run as smoothly. The customer likes to see the owner on the floor and find it special for me to wait on them. I also love going to market. I am never happier than roaming around the 112 building in NY City. The corporate showerooms are usually in NYC. Therefore you are more likely to find the latest in new styles. Front Street Baby is meant to attract the customer looking for the best for their babies. As well, they have the extra funds to spend to provide this. Since my first store in 1976, I have carried better brands that are difficult to find in their area. My credentials speak for them selves. I was the first business to carry Oshkosh and Brio trains. I am known for being at the forefront for carring the latest brands and expanding them until the next styles are important. It is said that children's clothes are 1 to 2 years behind the ladies market. I am known for watching the styles and brands that children on the street are wearing and asking if I could look at their label?  My business model has been used by others wanting to open a shop similar to mine. I acted as their consultant to open their new children's store. From start to finish could take as long as two years to complete. To begin, a decision on the location, designing their logo, taking the owner to market with a decided budget. I am familiar with all markets depending on the location of the business. Several of my businesses are still going strong 20 plus years later. I hope to write a book about my experience in the field. My shops supported my family with an auto, gas, food for a family of five all gifts for holidays, birthdays etc. My salary also was used for clothing for the family. We included buying trips with a holiday. My shop was 3500 sq ft insize with 19 employees, many part time. I always had a manager that was in the store most days. Much of the profits were used to expand the inventory. remodel the store. I never had a loan or any debt other than the 30 days net terms on inventory. This store Front Street Baby opened in the twilight years of my life, has a very strong passion for being the most important of all my ventures.  I cannot understand why the importance of organic apparel next to their baby's skin, is not of the utmost concern. Parents need to be educated about the difference between organic and cotton treated with toxic herbisides and pesticides. Hospitals in the infant nursery do not use organic cotton to swaddle the babies. It is my goal with the funds available to have classes to educate new parents and hospital staff. I have big plans for any funds to help get rid of allergies, exama and other health problems due to the toxins sprayed on cotton and then processed into clothing used on the weakest amoung us.

Thank you for your time, Anne J Ramos
