We are a nonprofit Farm Animal Sanctuary. We are reaching out in support of our Capital Campaign to expand our animal sanctuary and to continue offering our programs and rescuing the many agricultural animals facing neglect and abuse.
FFAS is in desperate need of expanding our animal sanctuary. We are notified of animals in need every day and sadly, must turn them away do to the fact that we are at full capacity. We have developed a Capital Campaign to support this effort. We are currently renting the land our sanctuary occupies and need to buy a plot of land to build a sanctuary large enough to house our current rescues, increase our capacity to rescue and rehabilitate additional agricultural animals, host site visits, fundraising events and begin offering education and therapeutic programs onsite. We currently do not have this capability and are dependent on community partners like schools and churches to host our programs.
Since our inception in 2018, Freedom Farm Animal Sanctuary’s (FFAS) mission is to rescue neglected, abused, starved, or abandoned farm animals by providing them with the food, shelter, and medical care to ensure they can live the remainder of their lives free of pain and suffering. We also raise public awareness of the plight of mistreated animals through our farm animal outreach events, school visits, and animal sponsorship opportunities. In this way, we demonstrate that providing a permanent, nurturing environment for all agricultural animals is our role as a responsible society that values the sanctity of animal life.
We have grown over the years and are home to over 70 farm animal rescues including ducks, geese, donkeys, chickens, turkeys, sheep, goats, and rabbits. FFAS rescues farm animals that have has been removed from horrific situations. We rescue animals from livestock auctions and slaughterhouses, take owner surrenders if they cannot offer the animal proper care, and have partnerships with local organizations and the authorities to rescue animals that are victims of natural disasters.
We envision that the animals we rescue will become ambassadors for other farm animals who are victimized by their owners; that our outreach programs in schools, churches, and other locations will call attention to the heartless treatment that too many agricultural animals experience; and that a steady stream of donations will ensure our sanctuary can continue to grow and gain national respect and recognition.
With your support, we will be closer to our relocation goal of purchasing property, building barns for the animals so they are properly housed, and building the medical barn for the animals that arrive injured and ill. We will be able to treat their injuries onsite and around the clock if necessary and also provide routine exams for all of our residents at the Sanctuary.
Expanding the Sanctuary allows us to continue our mission, saving farmed more animals from abuse, neglect, abandonment and invite the public in to hear the animals’ stories and become educated on the humane treatment of farmed animals and participate in our educational and therapeutic programs.
