I am a Texas Teacher starting a real estate investing business. I teach children who are medically fragile in some way and cannot attend school in person. So, I go to their homes. Some of the children are dealing with a cancer diagnosis and treatment. Other students may be home for recovery from an operation. Still others have terminal conditions. I love my job and my students but in the long run I need to have income that can sustain me well into my golden years.
There is a half true stereotype of teachers having bigger hearts than pocketbooks. Over the past several years, I have begun educating myself about real estate investing. Recently, I encountered a group of people who is showing me real estate strategies that can actually help families in dire financial situations. When I heard that investing and helping people could occur simultaneously, I felt a joy bubble up inside me. If I could help fellow educators overcome that stereotype with affordable home ownership, then I feel like I will be contributing to a better society. Of course, I plan to help non educators as well. Many families are struggling and the thought of paying $500k for a home overwhelms many.
My initial request is for $10k. This will help me on my first deal to pay for up front costs like mentorship, earnest monies, down payments, business and financial fees like accounts.
