I want to recycle scrap electric motors for the copper content using a hammer mill that will break them apart into fine pieces and then separate the copper from the steel using a conveyor belt magnet. All scrap electric motors will be purchased from existing metal recycling facilities that will provide bulk quantities that will supply the process. The scrap copper that will be liberated from the scrap electric motors is a lower grade copper that I would want to use a small foundry to melt the scrap copper into a higher grade copper that would demand a higher scrap price. In addition, I would also purchase this lower grade form of copper from these existing metal recycling facilities in order to also melt down into a higher grade ingot for sale at higher price.
