elitefitrea is an independent, post-industrial band that has released two self-produced EPs, a studio EP, a compilation album, two self-produced music videos, and a debut studio album. (Post-Industrial is the same genre as Nine Inch Nails, and includes rock elements, blues elements, avant-garde, synthesizers, samples, and vocals.) The band's name was inspired by an album called White Pony by the Deftones (released 2000) which features a track called Elite and a track called Feiticeira. Fitria is an Arabic-derived Indonesian name, meaning, "Holy."
Since 2015, the band has grown from 40 local listeners to over 14,000 unique global listeners on Spotify and over 300,000 streams across various platforms. The band's next project is a studio double-LP with 21 tracks. All the instruments and vocal parts are already written. The band just needs a little help on the funding side to get it in the studio.
Its business model uses a technique developed by Modern Musician (founded by Michael Walker of Paradise Fears) to find new fans in the United States, and a technique called Spotify Growth Engine (developed by DJ John Gold, founder of Hyppedit) to find new fans internationally. Using these methods, elitefitrea has outperformed similar indie-electronica bands from their hometown, such as Church Fire, Voight, Holophrase, and The Drood, all of whom had strong local support and regular puff-pieces by local magazine The Westword, while elitefitrea did not. elitefitrea also uses very strong branding & style elements, many of which were designed by award-winning School of the Art Institute of Chicago graduate Everett Pace, evoking a dream-like, ominous feeling that enhances the mystery of the band's music.
elitefitrea's debut album Lethe has gained notice from many international producers, most notably Davide Ariolde from Italy who wishes to work with the band on the upcoming double LP. elitefitrea will also be releasing a Lethe remix album as they head into the studio. (It is already in production and does not need any funding.)
The band's frontman, Black Diamond Day (aka Bryan Day) has already contributed $10,000 for this album project. He estimates the studio fees will be between $20,000 and $30,000 based on the production costs for Lethe, which was a 9-track album and cost $10,000 to produce in 2019. The remaining funds will go towards marketing (using the Modern Musician program and the Spotify Growth Engine program), and towards procuring and converting a used step-van (Fedex-style delivery truck) and turn it into a tour van for performing and touring across Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana.
