The education sector is routinely forgotten about when it comes to solar eclipses. And yet, they represent probably the most eager group of people who'd want to experience such an event. Our company seeks to ensure that educators, students, children, less-advantaged individuals, and those serviced by common good organizations can source eclipse glasses at a reasonable cost.
We are equally interested in ensuring our glasses can get to Latin America, a region mostly neglected by eclipse glasses vendors due to the complexity of advertising and distribution. We have solved both of these issues. We have Spanish and Portuguese advertisers on TikTok getting the word out. We have localized our website to be friendly to Spanish and Portuguese-speaking customers in LATAM. We have also developed a pricing model that is more reflective of the income realities for those in LATAM. And we have distribution both in the US and LATAM.
The October 2023 eclipse impacts over 600,000,000 people. That's 2x more than the 2017 eclipse where 200,000,000 pairs of eclipse glasses were sold (one pair for 60% of the US population)! We want to ensure students across the country are able to see this event as it will be the last one over the western US for 20 years.
