I just launched a film production company February 2020 right before COVID took a turn for the worse. Within my company, I plan to do something different, which is, give aspiring actors/actresses and aspiring filmmakers the opportunity perfect their craft without feeling rejected. I know how it feels to be rejected and discourage, which is why I want to help these up and coming artist fulfill their dream. As of now, I just ended a crowdfunding campaign to raise money to go towards a film called Escape: The Unknown which is about young woman who was physically and emotionally abused by her boyfriend. After being arrested, he returned to seek his revenge on her cause her much grief. I have raised $3,199 so far towards my goal.
If funded, the money will go towards productions which includes, equipment, location, cast/crew, props, marketing and promotional resources and any unexpected expenses that may occur during production. This film is the short version of the feature film screenplay that I have written. Once the short film is completed it will be submitted into film festivals for industry professionals to view in the hopes of getting it picked up by executives to go into production.
If the film is picked up by executives, I will then have a discussion with all investors on ways they can receive their money back. Some ways includes being credited as an executive producer and receiving royalties or residuals from the film or being paid a percentage of the box office sales that was reached.
Escape: The Unknown screenplay has won numerous awards and been selected to be featured in numerous of film festivals.
