58,604 stores 12 Buyers. First orders $9mm. 3mm Expenses. $6mm profits. 1mm ROI from first order.
I have one of my 10 inventions for the construction trades in patent pending. I want to bring them all to Market. It is time to introduce them to the millions of Painters, Tapers, Consumers and Construction Workers that will buy and use them.  I will confess, I know very little about business. My business, Don’s Painter Stuff consists of just me.  I have been an architectural Painter and Contractor for thirty-five years. In that thirty- five years,  I have Invented over eight different tools for the construction industry. Starting in 1981 and up to  the present, I made prototypes, and only when working alone, to avoid disclosure, I used them in my work. In 2013 I started the business after checking manufacturers cost. Shipping costs. Barcode costs and packaging etc. The first tool I will be selling is  “The Tape Thing 1.5” It costs $1.27 to completely produce a ready for the shelf product. Sold to the Buyer for $3.50 then placed on all Home Improvement, Hardware, Auto Part’s and Paint store shelves for $9.99 or $10.99.

History. The Tape Thing is an idea which came to me in 2013. I had my masking tape hanging from an obsolete cell phone with a built-in antenna to carry my masking tape. I had been using it for years. I was on a 24- foot extension ladder, masking a third story window on an exterior of a house I was going to spray, when the antenna broke off the phone, sending my tape three stories to the ground. I went home and built a prototype out of a metal coat hanger and tried it, it worked. Later I conducted a search and  filed a provisional patent on it. I found through a seven western state research of the target market that it was needed and would sell.

Problem: A Painter or a Taper carries Masking Tape being used on the job in his or her hands. When a painter or Taper masks a window or anything else for spraying while painting,  whether it’s for Paint or texture, they first run tape onto the window frame then using plastic or paper cut to a loose fit, it’s placed onto the tape.
It takes two hands to do the masking. The  problem is where do you put the tape roll when not being used?
On the ladder rung as long as it doesn’t fall off. Really, you need a third hand.

Problem Solved: The third hand in this case is “The Tape Thing” It’s made of a sturdy and bright Stainless- steel rod that’s in a shape that just slides into the users pants pocket , left or right, and carries a roll or rolls of masking tape so the user can grab the tape he or she needs and continue masking the windows or anything else, then place it back over the tool onto the catch.

Uses of The Tape Thing includes Houses, Sky- Scrapers, Apartment Complexes, Town- Houses, Buildings, Cars, Trucks, Planes, Boats, Yacht’s, Restaurants, Marinas, Collision Centers etc. and whatever the customer needs it for.

Profit and Loss example: A Two Case First Order or $168.00 per store.                                                                                Home Depot. 2296 stores. 2296 x 2 cases of 24 @$3.50 each, or $168.00 = $385,728.00.                                                                                   Lowes 2197. Sherwin-Williams 4900.  Ace Hardware 5150. True Value Hardware 4730.
Do It Best Hardware 4800. AutoZone 6140. O’Reilly 5000. CarQuest 4891. Advance Auto 5100.
Napa Auto 11,100. and Auto Value 2300. = 58,604 stores. Total 12 Companies. $9,894,864.00 First Orders.

Expenses: Would be for 58,604 stores x 48 (2 cases) = 2,812,992 tools. Manufactured in VietNam for $.67 including F.O.B. Sent back to America,  $1,884,704.64 through Value Source Global. Kitting, Packaging and Shipping by Medallion Fulfillment Center $.50. $1,406,496.00 + One time only purchase of 60,000 Display strips at $.11ea. $6,600.00.  $1,884,704.64 + $1,406,496.00 =  $3,297,800.64 in Expenses.
So from $9,894,864.00 G. - $3,297,800.64. is $6,597,063.36 in profits from the First orders.
Research: After creating my prototypes of the Tape Thing 1.5 and receiving my confirmation of  patent pending, I conducted a seven, Western States research from Arizona to Washington State then down through Oregon and California and back. At a Shelf cost of $10.00, 100% said Yes they would purchase it, and 100% of the store clerks said YES they would sell it. I called and talked to Wang Zhu at Home Depot Headquarters. I explained the tool and what it does and sent pictures. He assigned Elizabeth Rodgers as a future product representative. We talked via email then by phone. Have printouts of both persons emails.

Manufacturing to Market: My first Tool, The Tape Thing 1.5 costs $1.27 from complete production to L.A Fulfillment then sold to the Buyers for $3.50 through a brochure .  SRP  $10.00.

Users: Painters, Tapers, Carpenters, Electricians, Collision Center painters, Manufacturing plant employees, Apartment Maintenance,  and whatever else the Customer wants to use it for. The other seven tools and Hardware inventions will be added as they get Patented, or a Patent Pending.
Target Markets: Home Improvement, Painting, Auto Parts, and Hardware Stores.
Traction: Just as the paint roller was and is still being used since its introduction in 1940, other tools have been introduced and are still selling from the 58,604 stores and many more not in my figures.
As a businessman, I am week in my knowledge of product sales. As an Entrepreneur and Founder, I can keep a Company in  multimillion dollar profits for many years to come.
Traction:  I will be getting Patents done on all of my Inventions and putting them on the shelves. The next Product is the Tape Thing 2.5”. None of these Tools or Hardware are on any shelf in the US that I know of. Each one is a tool needed by the Trades or Customer it was made for. Each of my Inventions came about because I needed that tool to speed up the work I was doing. It did speed it up, and in the case of The Tape Thing 1.5 it continues to carry my masking tape throughout any Job. I use it when I'm not hanging or taping drywall. That tool is The Tape Thing 2.5, and it will be the next product I will sell to the 12 Buyers.
