My name is Fatukanu Kabia and I am the owner of Diamond Janitorial Services . Diamond Janitorial Services have been in business since 2017. We are very influential in the community as being an equal opportunity company that gives people in a reading back into normal life opportunities in order to be able to succeed in life. My company gives individuals the opportunities to be able to learn normal every day life getting up to work in an eight hour shift and getting into the work field . 

Because of COVID-19 the growth of our business was stunted by about 80%. The reason being is that we can no longer go to our clients homes in order to service them, which was about 80% of our business. Not only did Covid stunt the growth of our janitorial business, but it also made it the population increase the idea of not working for their finances. And with the huge payouts of Covid, sweet as employers, had to raise up the pay of our employees in order to be able to keep our staff members. 

No, I believe that this absolutely has crippled a lot of our economy. The reason why I say this is because as Covid is dissipating, and we are returning back to normal life, we are finding it that us as companies we have to uphold the payments raises, that we have given our employees. Which makes this very difficult as we’re in the economy where now our commercial clients cannot keep up with their budgets and are now shutting down business so we are losing client because of the economy, and we are struggling with keeping the raises that we have given our employees. it’s not that the employees don’t deserve to keep their wages because we cannot, and they cannot afford to get a cut in there, hourly rates because the expenses of living has also gone up due to the inflation of what has happened from Covid. 

As a simple residential and commercial cleaning company before Covid, I was paying my employees $10-$15 an hour after Covid. I am now paying my employees $16-$25 an hour. With those wages, it is absolutely tough to keep up payroll with these valued employees due to the fact that we cannot raise the price on our clients because of inflation with living expenses. 

As important, and as great as having a clean environment is, it is the first thing that families will cut out of their budget when it comes to budgeting. So it is very tough right now in the economy, that we are in. myself as a janitorial owner I am absolutely over work to the point where I have put my health at risk because my body does not manage stress well with the desperation of trying to bring in enough income to upkeep my payroll. 

I believe Covid has crippled our small business economy 2 plus years.

I am really looking for a loan of 50,000 to 100,000 to get the company back to a secured spot to where we can be able to operate business without the fear of running out of cash. The business is really an amazing industry and it has done awesome. There is a great demand for it in our city and I loved industry and I love what I do. I do not want financial restraints to get in the way of making this business successful.
