I am a certified Speech-Language Pathologist looking for funding to develop an application to provide people with a way to learn how to produce specific English sounds correctly and be able to practice those sounds at home with real-time feedback using an API. Videos will be available to teach the correct production of sounds and the API will let them know whether they are producing the sound correctly. Currently, speech therapy applications require either the students themselves or another person who is not trained in articulation to monitor the quality of their production. Besides allowing students who are receiving speech therapy a way to practice between sessions, this application will allow those who do not qualify for speech therapy to learn how to correctly produce sounds with which they are having difficulty. Videos will be available to demonstrate correct production of each sound and games will be available to keep them interested. Speech therapists will be able to assign specific sounds for their clients to work on and will have access to whether they are practicing what they have been taught and how well they are doing. This application would also be helpful to people who are learning  English by demonstrating how to produce specific English consonants and allowing them to practice the correct production of those sounds as often as desired. The application can be used for all ages from young children to older adults. I currently have the AI program of the application completed, but I need additional funds to create the rest of the application.
