 We are a General Contractor with class B and C47 licenses as well as a manufactured home/commercial modular dealer’s license, which allows us to act as a “1 stop shop” for clients to purchase manufactured homes and have the same company perform all facets of the site prep, foundation build, utility hook-up, and set-up of unit.
 
We also offer remodel and repair services to residential and commercial clients in standard stick-built properties.
 
I have been working in the trades for 32+ years starting in 1990 when I joined the contractor’s union local 35 and went through the joint apprentice training center.  I turned out as a journeyman in 1993 and have worked for property management companies and then started my current business, DIY Design & Consulting, in 2009.
 
My lead carpenter has 15+ years in the trades working for various contractors and has honed his carpentry skills and continues to increase his knowledge of construction techniques.
 
Our interior finish carpenter has 8+ years in the trades, who is our kitchen and bathroom remodel expert.
 
We have two carpenters which are in the midst of our apprenticeship program.
 
As mentioned in the introduction, I believe there is a need for a “1 stop shop” for clients to purchase and install manufactured homes/commercial modulars.  Since COVID, there has been an up take in people wanting to move out of overly populated areas and work remotely and manufactured homes, once placed on an approved foundation, have the same value as traditional stick built without as much up front costs.
 
By us having our dealership license and the appropriate contractor’s license (C47), we have positioned ourselves as the only contractor in our area that can do this.
 
We feel our business model is unique in that we can generate revenue the traditional way, i.e. additions, remodels, and repair work in stick built homes and commercial property, while offering an option for allowing buyers to purchase a new manufactured home and have the same company take care of all facets of the build and set-up of property.
 
I don’t feel we have direct competition in our market as most manufactured home dealerships have to sub-out work to contractors and most contractor’s don’t sell manufactured homes.
 
We have established ourselves in our community as a reliable contractor and as the only C47 in area.
 
We are seeking $150,000 investment to allow us to pay up some business debt and invest in some properties to develop with manufactured homes on foundation to re-sell and as working capital.
 
If we can move forward with our over all plan, we would be able to build a portfolio of rental properties, develop properties for sale, as well as continue to offer the remodels, additions, and repair work.
 
We would love to reach a level of success that would allow us to help young families achieve home ownership in an affordable new home with equity potential.
