Family owned & operated Handy man home repair services. No matter how small or big, we are excited to be a part of your home project!
My name is Cassie, I am the owner of C&T Handy Home Repairs, Inc. I currently run & manage a very successful, recently acquired HVAC company in my city. I have been in my industry now for roughly 10 years. Reason I am requesting funding is because I know I have the knowledge, the tools, the passion and drive to run a very successful company. We live in a fantastic - well to do area and we do Handy man repairs so frequently outside of what we do professionally it just makes sense! There is 100% a market in our area to create a profitable company. We live in a generation where the Do it yourself client is declining because the Baby boomer generation who learned and knew how to work on their homes are aging out of being able to do the labor or even get on a ladder, and younger families are busy with work and their children. We are happy to help!
Overall Idea:
Handy man business / remodeling
Business Model:
This can go one of two ways in this industry. I am smart enough to "bootstrap" my way through the first year or so, however knowing how to run a service company -- I am looking to be professional, prepared, and stream lined right out of the gate. The more prepared we are, the more work we can accept at one time to continue bringing in the revenue we need to grow the business in a forward motion.
THE TEAM:
Currently includes myself as President and Operations - my husband is in the field as a Handyman Technician.
**Being able to hire employees will drastically increase monthly revenue.

**Considering: Hybrid model for payment. Handymen do a wide variety generalized work vs. specific. May want to provide flat rate pricing for common jobs and hourly for everything else.
Customers:
When you're selling to everyone, you're selling to no one. We need to position ourselves in the market, need to know who our ideal targeted customer is.
- Do not want to cast a "big net" and waste time and money and resources
- Do market research and age/gender and income brackets , location
- What key words are clients using to find like for like services? (Handyman vs specific services)
***Side note to self: No free estimates. Waste of time and costing us money. Charge an estimate fee -- if client moves forward with services we will deduct that from the total price of the job.
***Side note to self: If your getting 50% or more of the jobs you provided estimates.....we are either not charging enough or not giving many estimates.
For self notes:
*Market Driven Development --- look for validation, input, how to “de-risk” the journey
*Going into the market, be engaged, Basic demonstration of interest from potential clients through their and others interactions
*Have passion
*Be strategic, where you are – where its heading – is that where you want to go?
*Implementation is easy – Execution is expensive
