We are opening a cocktail bar that features Northeast-comfort food fusion in an up and coming Brooklyn neighborhood, getting in on the ground floor to grow with them as the scene expands.
Crown and Valley – “No pretension, all quality and comfort” – will provide a unique combination of high-quality cocktails, craft beers, and artisanal spirits along with the staples of the classic neighborhood bar in a cozy and welcoming environment that everyone can call their place.
Crown and Valley will offer industry standard spirits and beers along with locally produced products to curate a bar program that will cater to a wide variety of guests. Partnerships and the support of brands and distributors that Irene Reyes has cultivated over many years in the hospitality industry in New York will allow us to provide a wide spectrum of carefully selected offerings that can be appreciated by all who walk through our doors.
We intend to initially start with a selection of six draft beers and an assortment of canned beers, some that will rotate seasonally and others that we will always keep on the line. Our back bar will be diverse, but not overcrowded or overwhelming for our guests to choose from. The cocktail menu will feature several craft cocktails which rotate seasonally featuring local spirits and homemade ingredients. A Happy Hour menu will be available that features beer and shot specials, a $10 cocktail, and a rotating $5 can of beer.
Company Ownership
In the Mix Hospitality is an LLC. Irene Reyes is the principal owner. It is Irene’s intention to initially offer 75% of the company’s ownership in order to open and operate Crown and Valley through its first two years of business. Investors will obtain 1% ownership per $5500 invested in the establishment. Investors will be paid back in installments until their ownership percentage reaches 15% at which point they will receive a profit share of 15% of the quarterly net revenue.
Irene Reyes
Irene has over 25 years of bar and hospitality experience, the last 10 of which have been in New York City. From 2018 until the end of 2023 Irene was an owner and General Manager of The Springs in the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn, which quickly became a much beloved destination for people of all boroughs and locals alike. This 7500 sq foot space, which included a 5000 sq foot outdoor patio, hosted everything from intimate birthday parties to full fledged weddings, giving her the diverse managerial experience necessary for any situation.
Management Team
Natalie Mitchell – Head Chef
We have partnered with chef Natalie Mitchell of NANA who is well known within the Brooklyn brewery scene for her modern takes on
Elevated Bar Food, Craft Comfort Cuisine and her signature must have Brioche Doughnuts. For our bar she will be elevating her menu even further and will be incorporating more of her culinary influences from her upbringing in New England, her family’s southern roots, and her travels abroad.
Leah Weingart – Bar Manager
Leah Weingart is joining the team having previously worked with Reyes as Head Bartender at The Springs. Leah brings with her 16 years of New York City hospitality experience, 14 of those in high volume bars. This will be her third time as an integral part of an opening team, bringing that experience to create cocktails that complement the space, food menu, and unique neighborhood.
Target Market
Nearly all of the businesses in the neighborhood that have a bar are also restaurants.. Our guests will be there to drink, so we have the luxury of being able to cater to the wants and desires of all different kinds of drinkers. Our job, and our employees’ job, is to bring all of these different drinkers together and create a community of people who want to cozy up to the bar and see who they meet tonight.
