We are a South American agricultural business focused on building midstream assets for post-harvest processing of industrial hemp and cannabis. I was a founding member of a similar business model in the US that was recently acquired and looking to replicate in the South American market (Colombia specifically). With 3.5 harvest per year (compared to 1 in the US), cheap but skilled labor, and clear regulatory framework, Colombia is poised to become the largest producer in the world.
The importance of post-harvest processing is often overlooked. For hemp/cannabis, the producer has a 3-4 hour time window after harvest to get the product into a dryer before product quality begins to degrade quickly. The traditional methods of hang-drying and letting the plant dry over a period of 4-5 weeks is not only antiquated, but no longer economical in a market that has seen prices fall over 90% in the past year, therefore the plant must be mechanically dried. The milling process breaks the flower into a consistant partical size, making the product more desirable for end user customers (extraction labs).
The business model has been proven in the US, key Colombian team members are on board, we have been meeting with customers in Colombia, and we have the equipment on standby. We are looking to raise $1mm in equity, which will be used for machinery for 2-3 locations, hire management team, and provide enough working capital to get the business off the ground.
