Chaos Audio

Chaos Audio (https://chaosaudio.com) is a music tech company building smart gear and a flexible software ecosystem for modern guitarists. Our products include Stratus, a Bluetooth-connected multi-effects pedal, and Nimbus (https://get.nimbusamp.com), an upcoming smart guitar amp that acts as a “music studio in a box.” It integrates effects, amp modeling, looping, audio interface capabilities, Bluetooth streaming, multi-instrument input, and more — all controllable via mobile and web apps.

What sets us apart is our open plugin marketplace, which allows anyone to build and publish their own effects or tools for use on our hardware. This gives musicians access to an expanding library of creative possibilities and turns our products into customizable platforms rather than fixed-function devices.

We’ve already shipped over 1,300 Stratus pedals, built a plugin store with 50+ effects, and grown an email list of more than 21,000 subscribers, many of whom joined during our original Kickstarter that raised over $140,000 in 2022. Our customer base includes beginner and intermediate guitarists, older hobbyists (55+), and solo musicians seeking a modern, intuitive alternative to traditional gear.

Chaos Audio was founded by Landon McCoy, who launched the company as a sophomore in electrical engineering and now leads product development, marketing, and operations. Our lean team is supported by a network of trusted contractors and third-party partners.
