Carolina Naturals™ was founded in 2023 by Alisha Malone as an expansion of her already successful soy candle business, Wax On Fire. From a tiny room in her home to a fully equipped warehouse, Alisha has worked relentlessly to bring healthier, more eco-friendly candle options to the market.
In 2020, while experiencing a brutal summer filled with mosquitoes and insects, Alisha began formulating a repellent candle to make the outdoors more enjoyable for her and her family. After thorough research, development, and testing, she released a repellent candle through Wax On Fire that would soon become a customer favorite with an influx of repeat sales and positive feedback. In 2023, Alisha decided to branch out and give her repellent candle it's very own brand, now known as Carolina Naturals™.
As passionate outdoorsmen ourselves, we have personally used our citronella candles in some of the most favorable environments for mosquitoes and insects. The South Carolina heat and humidity, especially while fishing and camping, has proven to be the ultimate testing grounds for our citronella line.
In order to create brand awareness and establish social proof, we are looking to raise funds for a strategic marketing campaign. This campaign will be managed by a professional marketing firm that we are currently negotiating with. We will also be using these funds to add additional items to our product line such as insect repellent spray, insect bite balm, and additional vessel sizes of our insect repellent candle. Our ultimate goal is to land our products in big-name retail stores such as Bass Pro and Cabela’s. We are currently members of the RangeMe retail platform but, without brand awareness and social proof, it’s very difficult to land significant purchase orders from reputable retail stores.
There are very few brands who offer a non-toxic repellent candle on store shelves, yet more and more consumers are turning toward natural product options that are safer for themselves and the environment. Our insect repellent candles have generated outstanding feedback and a trend of repeat customers who trust our product. We know that Carolina Naturals™ is exactly what consumers and big retailers are looking for - we just need to get it in front of them.
