I designed and built a single seat fully enclosed pedal car in 1974. I wish to rebuild this design as a foundation for a new business with the newest electric drive, night lighting and braking technology. The product designed and proposed falls into the category of vehicles known as "Velomobiles". This one is a 3 wheeled model with night lighting and signals as standard. Based on my initial estimates for parts and materials, the retail price would be about $4,500.00 CAD. The business model I propose to use will be business to business (b2b) bicycle retailers and business to customer (b2c) by internet and showroom. Customers will be those of any age interested in green urban transportation requiring some exercise in comfort and a high level of safety. The initial product will be the Juliet Hybrid pedal car which is an enclosed pedal car with a multitude of standard features and available options. I can expect a large proportion of customers to be seniors seeking convenient and inexpensive local transport.
Our team will consist of myself, a retired Canadian Forces pilot trained trained in mechanical engineering. One of my advisors will be Ralph Iorio, former CPA and owner of Multiweb Converting a manufacturer of food packaging. The third advisor is Charles Hockley a licensed financial advisor.
