Helping humanity cope with the stressors and changes within our eco-system

My name is Dr. Shushan Campbell, Ph.D., Licensed Clinical Psychologist. I am the sole owner and personal investor of my private practice, Campbell Integrative Psychological Services, LLC (CIPS). I created this company in mid 2020 out of a necessity to continue to treat my patients while also caring for my terminally ill husband. I have been giving to humanity from I was 7-years old; advocating for a friend's grandmother who needed clothing for church and daily snacks/food. I advocated by using my own allowance to buy snacks when I could and asked my mother if she could contribute a new outfit. This anecdotal story is the seed to my being a Psychologist, and helping to heal humanity through life stressors and ever changing world. As an immigrant to the US, I learned the value of education, and decided to do something purposeful with my life.

CIPS   provide an integrative approach to mental health treatment that reduces a person's need to navigate complex systems that reduces their changes of "sticking" with their desire to get help. One's mental health is fragile, and it is imperative that people's needs are easily met, and housed under one umbrella. A comprehensive mental health, private practice, is not often maintained for one reason or another. CIPS seeks to close the gap and disparities in service delivery and increase accessibility. Therefore, CIPS provide psychological and psychiatric treatment to people across the life span. Psychological services various forms of therapy (CBT, Psychodynamic, Trauma, etc), in various formats (couples, family, individual, group), via Telehealth (Video and Audio). Because mental health symptoms are often co-morbid (occurs with other conditions that are medical or substance), we often pair therapy with medication management under psychiatry. Historically, it is often difficult for individuals to find prescribers, so people don't often get or benefit from the full scope of their treatment plan. Sometimes a person's presentation is so complex that it requires more scientific and concrete analysis to better understand what a person needs to get well. This level of treatment is done via psychological evaluations, where we perform psycho-educational assessments, neurological assessments, social-emotional assessments, autism assessments, ADHD assessments, and others.

CIPS is 95% teleheath with 5% in-person - this is based on clientele and patient preferences. Prior to the pandemic, people traversed obstacles to receive services in person. Those who could not take off work, take their child out of school, and have access to a private car, were often seen as non-committed. When in fact, daily life obstacles got in the way of successful treatment, worsening of symptoms, and increased hospitalizations.  The pandemic showed that we were able to provide mental health treatment via telehealth despite histrical objections by insurances and managed care. This new form of treatment modality provides greater access to care, reduces the sickness of people, improve functionality, and lead to great life fulfillment. CIPS has met these needs by providing telehealth and in person treatment.

CIPS is primarily insurance based, which means greater access to treatment and quality clinicians. We also provide private pay for those whose insurances we do not accept. CIPS is a unicorn in maintaining a comprehensive private practice through mostly insurance. We carry a team of  licensed psychologist, post-doctoral pre-licensed clinicians, and a licensed nurse practitioner.

Given the depth and breadth of mental health challenges, and the impact of the recent pandemic, we see that the trend around mental wellness is worsening. CIPS is comprehensive and is dynamic in maintaining a private practice that helps to treat a wide range of the population, house various forms of treatment under one umbrella, and allow accessibility to all.

CIPS hope to get funded so that we can grow our practice to 10-15 licensed psychologists and psychiatric nurser practitioners, expand the framework of the resources we need to do the job more efficiently, maintain capital for payroll, hire experts, and continue to serve a larger section of the population who are in need of mental health care. We hope to expand and open a separate clinic to help treat those with medication resistant depression and other chronic psychiatric conditions.

We hope to get invested and that we attract the right investor(s).
