With the current state of our country, more and more people are seeking solace in the outdoors, and self-sustained living has become a desired outlet that many have taken on. My product targets a wide variety of people, from hunters and fishermen to overlanders and off-road enthusiasts, or individuals simply looking for a mobile home option they can pull effortlessly behind their current car or SUV. These trailers are under 1500 lbs, making them very manageable and towable by just about any vehicle you can attach a tow hitch to. Small in size, they carry all the necessities, but also many luxuries as well. There is a full kitchen with 30 gallons of water, an outdoor shower, a queen size bed; as well as many optional upgrades such as a TV, heater, air conditioner, or a rooftop tent to sleep two additional people. They run completely on solar power, supplemented with propane for the stove and hot water heater. 

Over the last 6 years, after an education in welding technology and structural engineering, I've worked a variety of jobs in just about every sector of manufacturing. During this time, I have learned to do each and every job and gained experience that I believe will be invaluable for the development of this company. Being able to do the jobs I require my team to do allows me to gain the respect and culture needed to maintain success in the industry. I have essentially been “chasing money” the past year, working multiple jobs to keep bills paid, building these out of a glorified storage unit, as I created and perfected this design. Due to material shortages and the rise in costs, I am unable to keep up and am seeking financing to do a higher volume run of trailers. The money will be used for five units worth of material, shop lease(that’s already set up, ready to move in) and a few tool upgrades to speed up production. There is another level that I would like to get to(see future expansion page), but I am currently able to hire-out steps of the manufacturing process such as metal cutting and forming, powder coat and painting, and shipping. My plan is to build a demonstration trailer in the first production run, with all available options; in which I can take videos, pictures, and potentially do a giveaway to kickstart branding and establish a social media presence. Today, social media controls the majority of all markets, though most of the attention is no longer on pictures. Traffic is funneled through short video clips known as “reels” on Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat, and then there are platforms such as Tik Tok that are compiled of only these types of clips. I will target these high traffic areas with aesthetically pleasing videos that paint the experience these trailers will give. Through little tips, fun destinations, and breathtaking videography; the social media presence will promptly, creating a large customer base and completely free advertisement channel. Social media will be the heart of marketing, though trade shows and dealer sales are also going to be a great option to bring awareness to the brand and give people the opportunity to see and inspect the trailers in person. 

I am also in the process of creating a completely bolt together kit. For the kit to be released, I will first need to get the blueprints patented to protect the design. Next will be a legal disclaimer protecting the company from liabilities of incorrectly assembled trailers that may have faults. The kit engages with a whole new audience due to the low cost entry, but leaving the ability to upgrade and modify down the road. No one has ventured into the DIY world with these trailers, although companies like MOVE Bumpers have created products for the same customer base with great success. Almost anyone would be able assemble these in their garage, with minimal mechanical skills or tooling; very similar to a furniture kit you would buy at Walmart and piece together yourself. The design is fully modular, meaning if any part gets damaged, you can easily un-bolt and replace it. Selling a kit, rather than a fully built trailer would allow them to be shipped on a pallet, significantly reducing shipping costs and increasing production capabilities.

I am located in La Grande, Oregon; an area known for outdoor recreation and a high population of the customer base I am targeting. Due to the rural location, rent is very manageable and there is a high amount of prospective employees in the manufacturing industry.

A solid team is in place, ready to jump into gear; including certified welders, electricians,  general laborers, expert video producers, and extremely knowledgeable social media marketers. Many of which carry a great passion in the outdoors and are anxious to be the start of something great. While I do plan to carry out the first few trailer runs with minimal employees, these people are still at my disposal and anxious to help when needed.

This company will be far more than a trailer manufacturer, it is intended to help, teach, and provide solutions to as many people as possible. Within the first four years, the shop will carry the capacity to take on a great deal of local business, along with trailer production. These services include powder coating, overland accessory installations(installation of water, electrical/solar, HVAC, and storage systems in vans and other overland vehicles,) and custom racks and bumpers. Creating culture within the company and a loyal customer base is my highest priority. There is so much more planned; I did my best to keep it as brief as possible, as I know your time is of the highest value.
