Online training courses for professionals and parents who work with preschoolers

BrainMoves LLC is a start-up that will offer online training classes for teachers, occupational therapists and other professionals and parents on how to use specific movements to help preschoolers with behavior, developmental, learning and social skills. The fun, easy movements are based upon research regarding developmental reflexes and stages and incorporate information from many proven resources. Some of the movements are designed to imitate the developmental reflexes that children use naturally in utero and after birth to create healthy, strong, cross lateral connections in the neural pathways in the brain.. Some of the movements are designed to "turn off" reflexes that the child should have outgrown but are "stuck on," inhibiting further development. Some of the movements are designed to help the child stay calm, listen and learn. All of the movement will help the child be calmer and relax the "freeze, fight or flight" reflex that contributes to hyperactivity and learning and development problems.

The movements are represented by fun cartoon characters with different animals demonstrating a separate movement. There are 38 movements in the system designed to help preschoolers reduce stress, hyperactivity and behavior problems. They help children overcome learning, developmental, visual, auditory and general processing problems as well as correct sensory integration issues. memory, creativity, problem solving skills, balance and coordination.

I developed the BrainMoves  movements to help preschoolers not only with delayed development, balance, coordination, learning disabilities, but also with chemical imbalances, trauma recovery and other mental health diagnoses, behavioral, psychological, emotional and physical problems.  I have fifteen years of clinical experience using these movements with preschoolers and people of all ages with special needs.

I have been a licensed Brain Gym teacher and consultant since 2002. I also have a masters degree in counseling psychology since 2002 with many certifications to do teach and do therapy in the creative arts, with children, families and couples. I am certified as a professional nanny, with extensive training in baby and child development, correcting behavior problems and working with children with special needs.

Three packages will be offered at different price points for the course. The course is divided into modules, each approximately five minutes long, so the customers can fit the training into  their busy schedules and learn at their own pace. They all be able to go back and review any material that they choose. There will also be a discount package for schools and professional organizations.

The course covers the theory behind the BrainMoves movements, why they work, why each individual movement works, what issues each individual movement can improve and how to choose the correct movements. I will demonstrate ways to make the movements fun for the children, using stuffed animals and stories. There will also be a section on assessment and how to measure how well each movement is working for each child. There will be written support materials for the content of the course, downloadable posters and other learning aids, coloring pages and story pages for the children to use.

My plan is to develop the course to an online format between now and January. January 12, 2025 is the launch date for the courses. I will need funding for professional development of the course through Thrive Courses https://thrivecourses.com/, I plan to market and advertise the course using a professional marketing company recommended by Thrive Courses with the goal of increasing awareness and sales of the product quickly. We will market initially to teachers and other professionals, with a secondary market later on targeted to parent of preschoolers.

I would like to animate the animal character and provide videos that the children can watch and learn and do the movements with the animals. I don't have the funding estimated for that or a specific timeframe in which to implement it. My goal is to grow the company until a large company becomes interested in buying it and making it an international company with many product lines including stuffed animals and puppets, toys and games.

Online courses is one of the fastest growing markets today.  The global online education market size was valued at $49.99 billion in 2023.  It is expected to reach USD 324.95 billion by 2032, growing at a CAGR of 23.12% during the forecast period (2020–2032). According to Thrive Courses, courses in education are the second most successful in the market, with courses about increasing productivity holding the number one spot. Courses about health hold the number four spot.

As far as I know, there is no other competitor offering online courses of this nature. Brain Gym (Aka: Educational Kinesiology, Breakthroughs International) offers systems of movement for school age children and teenagers, but their movements are too hard for preschoolers to do. Brain Gym is a non-profit foundation in Ventura, California. It was founded by Dr. Paul Dennison, who began his research in 1960 and eventually created the Brain Gym system. It has been used throughout the world for the last 40 years, in 80 countries on all seven continents. It has been translated into 40 different languages. The Brain Gym system is taught through classes, both in person and on Zoom. They don't have any online courses and are resistant to the idea, believing that in person contact is the best vehicle for teaching their system.. Their overall enrollment in classes increased with COVID, but has decreased significantly in the last two years because people want online classes that they can take in their free time.

I have a 3 year business plan and we are currently in production for the online classes. Posters and other learning aids are either completed or in production.
