BPL Canada is a professional indoor cricket league based in Toronto, Canada with 24 franchised teams and 600 players in our organization. Founded in 2017 with just 8 franchised teams, we've grown immensely and we pride ourselves in giving equal opportunity for men, women & youth to compete in our league. Solo-founded.
Problem - Canada has very cold and harsh winters and playing outdoor league isn't a possibility.
Solution - In 2017 with just 8 franchised teams, we created an indoor cricket league and solved the problem for players to continue their cricket development and to stay match fit when they play outdoor leagues.
We make money through team registration fees and sponsorship money, broadcasting rights to TV channels. Majority of our matches are live on Facebook & Youtube.
We have 2 other competitors. Mississauga Cricket League & Lakeshore cricket league
Our brand is more appealing to players as none of our competitors have the following perks: $10,000 winning cash prize and $100 Hero of the match (player of the match). This season we have 279 matches in total (October 20th, 2022 to May 7th, 2023)
Started with a humble beginning in 2017 with 8 teams, now we have a full-fledged 24-team co-ed league where men, women & youth get an equal opportunity to compete in our massive league setup at the Mississauga Stadium.
We are asking for $300,000 CAD or $222,388 USD in total.
Winning looks like when our players & umpires are happy, our venue costs are paid up and our league makes a profit.
We want to invite ex-international or retired players to coach/mentor our players or play on our teams. We want to create an auction league where teams will buy players in the auction for their respective teams.
