Raising 75k to expand operations and upgrade subscription boxes for senior citizens

I was lost. My grandparents were gone, and the world seemed to be falling apart around me. In 2020, the world as we knew it changed. Our seniors were among the most vulnerable group. Nursing home lockdowns were happening throughout the world, let alone the country.

One day while I was painting, an idea hit me: what if I could collect cards from people all over? What if I could gather them together and deliver them to seniors in nursing homes?
With as many as 77 percent of seniors reporting that they would require assistance were they to try and learn how to use a smartphone or tablet, that option was not viable. So I decided to go old school. Letters. Cards. Drawings. All seniors love those!
The next day, I grabbed my Cricut and a white mailbox and went to work: this would be our collection area. On day one, we received 17 cards; day two, 35; day three, 61; day four, 82; day five, 97; day six, 115..

As time passed, I realized that this is what I want to do full time with my life. I want to send senior citizens love through out the world.

After careful thought, I decided to evolve the card program into a subscription box. I based the idea on things that were needed when my grandparents were in a nursing home. Sugar free candy, anti slip socks, skincare products along with many other little gifts to bring a smile. We sealed each box with a handmade card signed and filled out by one of our volunteers.

Our #BoxesofLove went live in June of 2021 online. Since then, we have had an influx of subscribers. Each box costs 45 dollars. We have set plans of Monthly, Quarterly, 6 months and annually. The most popular is the Quarterly plan. Each box has a theme and includes the basics of anti grip socks, sugar free candy, an activity, skin care products, a handmade card and more tiny knick knacks. The gifts are designed to bring smiles to seniors whether they are in a nursing home or independently. Most of my customers are people with aging parents. We would like to grow to where every senior gets happiness sent right to their door step!
