BML MEDICAL

  1. BML Medical is a startup that develops (for starting) hair restoration devices to increase surgeon's productivity by reducing surgery duration.
  2. In 2019, 735 k hair restoration surgeries were performed around the World, with USA responding alone for 182 k (25%) surgeries. In average, in USA, a hair implantation surgery last 5 to 6 hours. At a cost of $4 to $15 per graft implanted (follicular units), with a medium of 2000 implanted grafts, at a cost ranging from US$8000 to US$15000 per procedure.
  3. According to last ISHRS census, from 2016 to 2019, the total market for hair restoration surgery has increased 10% reaching US$4.6 billion in 2019.
  4. The BML’s High-Capacity Implanter (HCI), is capable to introduce 3 grafts per application, at a competitive cost, while the majority of implanters can introduce a single graft, this can reduce the surgery total cycle by 30% to 40% of current duration improving surgeon's productivity and also helping the patients reducing the sedation time.
    We project the use of 3 HCI’s per surgery with a projected profit of US$120 (50% margin) per surgery or US$1.2M per 10,000 surgeries (around 5.5% of 2019 USA market).
  5. In Oct/2020, we have presented the HCI development as a case in the World Congress of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS). The HCI was cited as one of the highlights in the congress and there are companies abroad interested in representing BML for sales of HCI. The HCI has a Patent Pending, it was tested under surgery by our Medical Doctor to atest it works. It now needs to be industrialized to be introduced to the market.

We are a startup, with a medical doctor, dermatologist, researcher with PhD, and partner with renowned experience in hair restoration, testing and proving the quality potential of our HCI to increase surgeons' productivity. The engineer responsible for our development, has more than 20 years of experience in product development and manufacturing process in the automaker and airspace industries and is passionate to develop solutions to improve people’s life.
