Beyond Organic PBC is a relatively new business based off CR 146 near Salida Colorado.  This  operational  base is known as Farm 146. We grow soil, and soil organisms:  bacteria, fungus and algae.  The business leases  40 acres  that was a 150 cow dairy 15 years ago. We are converting  old barns here into greenhouses, repurposing  buildings for other uses, and improving pasture for grazing.  A small raw milk dairy has ben established and rents buildings and pasture here from Beyond Organic.

Beyond Organic was incorporated as a Public Benefit Corporation  in 2019. We have been in R&D stage; land has been improved, buildings have been retrofitted, and a consumer product line established. Branding and marketing materials are in place. Recently equipment has been repaired and perchaced.  A bank account was established on January 14, 2022. The company had  first income from consumer products and services in January 2022.

Beyond Organic is currently solely owned by bob pedersen. The company and its founder are  interested in two adaptive strategies to Climate Chaos:
  • Localization of food production
• Carbon capture in soil

Opportunity
Soil Microorganisms have enormous potentail to help translocate carbon from the atmosphere and store it in the living soil.  So called Net Zero goals of the United States can not be met without major shifts in industrial agriculture. There is an enormous opportunity on the horizon in the soils above the Ogallala Aquifer where an  existing center pivot farming system can quickly adapt  No Till  practices, and distribute microorganisms and their foods for growing heathy soil. These are key steps to storing  gigatonnes of carbon in the soil of the High Plains from Nebraska to Texas.

Locally the opportunity is to provide produce, products and services adding resilience to our local agricultural economy.

Business is R&D oriented
Researching formulas, production processes, and applications  for our specialized  microbial and bio-stimulant products:

  • Our Steam pasteurization “Hot Box”   came out of a year of test batches indicating a  need for controlled temperatures to build populations of specific microorganisms. This equipment is our own design and can process 10 tons per month.
  • We have conducted field trials with PHD oversight including lab results quantifying growth of populations of Micro Algae in soil and elimination of residual nutrients in leaf samples. We have developed formula for Bio- Activation of highly concentrated humic substances
Developing production and distribution systems for our products. This work is leading to opportunities to place specialized  products into renewable energy, commercial  agricultural,  and backyard gardening consumer markets.

Income From Sales
Our sales are projected to be around $145,000 in Year - 1,  $300K in year-2, surpassing  $1.2M  annually in 3 to 5 years .   This  above level of income is projected for local sales only, within a plan that demonstrates local success and prepares us for a much bigger opportunity . If our R&D  gets us where we think it will, income will exceed $30M by year ten. This plan includes cash flow projections and balance sheet  as of Jan.  2022
