BAKED T’SHUVAH is a social enterprise based at Beit T’Shuvah, a residential drug and alcohol treatment center in Culver City. Since our inception in 2017, our mission has been to provide vocational training to residents of Beit T’Shuvah, helping them discover their passion and purpose in life.

We achieve this by teaching the artisan craft of baking challah and developing the skills necessary to make the best possible bread. Through our training programs, we aim to build and nurture qualities such as consistency, reliability, discipline, concentration, focus, and accountability within our residents. By doing so, we help them find their sense of purpose and passion, which is instrumental in their journey to recovery.

In addition to vocational training, we focus on building social connections and a sense of community. We are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of our residents, our community, and the world around us.

Our head baker and founder worked alongside professional bakers and pastry chefs to create a unique challah recipe that has received overwhelmingly positive feedback. As many customers have said, our challah is truly addictive (and we know addiction!). Challah is a beautifully braided Jewish egg bread, but the way we do challah, it’s challah for the masses!

Baked T’Shuvah offers our delicious challah and other specialty breads to customers via our website and on-site. Our customers include community members as well as those who’ve heard of us through word of mouth and social media (Instagram). We offer delivery for an additional fee and pick-up at Beit T’Shuvah.

With the addition of an outdoor food trailer, Baked T’Shuvah will be able to greatly increase the distribution of our amazing challah and reach out to the greater Los Angeles community. This expansion will allow us to fulfill our mission, enabling a larger cross-section of the community to enjoy our sensational challah. Additionally, it will help save lives and souls by supporting Beit T’Shuvah through their purchases.
