AquiPor

Raising $1M for manufacturing and project pilots of novel porous concrete technology

AquiPor has developed a patented concrete technology that turns traditional concrete into high-performance porous AND permeable concrete for stormwater management and flood mitigation in cities. AquiPor is advancing its technology as an alternative supplementary cementitious material (SCM) that can be seamlessly integrated into current concrete production processes.

AquiPor's technology produces permeable concrete with the added benefits of improved early strength and durability, resistance to freeze-thaw, resistance to alkali-silica reactivity, and a lower CO2 footprint than traditional concrete.

With an integrated total addressable market potential of $117 Billion, AquiPor’s technology addresses the construction aggregates market, concrete paving, and stormwater infrastructure markets. AquiPor’s estimated initial serviceable addressable market (SAM) is $750 Million - $1.5 Billion in the first 7 years through licensing and sales of its porous SCM, direct sales and licensing of pavers made with “AquiPor Inside”, and as a design-build E.P.CM. model on green infrastructure projects. This market encompasses municipal infrastructure projects, commercial developments, and residential applications across regions facing critical stormwater management challenges.

With increased regulatory pressure on urban water management and growing climate-related flooding concerns in major metropolitan areas, AquiPor is positioning its technology to capture market share in high-value segments, initially focusing on metropolitan areas in the West, Southwest, Texas, and areas in the Southeast with outdated stormwater infrastructure.
AquiPor’s key market segments include civil engineering, municipal water management, commercial construction, sustainable development projects, and water conservation initiatives. Our market drivers include stormwater pollution and flood mitigation strategies, depleting groundwater resources, climate adaptation strategies, and sustainable building.

The Company’s unique value proposition is an advanced permeable concrete technology that can be easily implemented into the current processes of the concrete industry, while providing new concrete products that offer enhanced water permeability and filtration, reduced environmental footprint, and superior performance with numerous environmental benefits.

AquiPor's core team has technical and business expertise in materials science and the construction industry.

The Company is led by Co-Founder & CEO Greg Johnson who has over 10 years of experience in startups focused on green infrastructure and building materials, leading the go-to-market launches of new concrete products in the green infrastructure space, and advising on the technology and development of new industrial technologies in the energy and building material sectors.

AquiPor's inventor and Co-Founder is Matt Russell, who is a Civil PE with a background in chemical and structural engineering. Matt has experience as a founder of industrial technology startups (current: Refourm Power, Inc., BW-IGC, Inc.) and directed the bankable feasibility study for a mineral resource company prior to its initial public offering. His broad technical experience includes over 20 patents and patents-pending, large scale plant design (clinker silos built in quarters), seismic design for bridge falsework (CALTRANS), civil/structural design for mobile waste stacking (Freeport Indonesia), design-build of heap leach equipment for the copper industry, coal preparation plant and loadout design, and the design-build of clinker silos and reclaim tunnels for cement plants.

AquiPor’s Head of Product Engineering is Josh Chastek. Josh and has vast experience in concrete product development and research, previously working on new concrete technologies and cementitious material development for BW-IGC and Refourm Power, researching and developing industrial byproduct utilization in concrete mix designs and researching catalytic concrete technologies for power generation. Prior to his work in concrete, Josh was a research assistant in biolgoy at Eastern Washington University post undergrad. Josh currently leads the AquiPor product development effort including mix designs, testing procedures, and quality control standards.

AquiPor’s founding team is surrounded by established industry professionals who are early investors and advisors, representing industry experts from the construction, engineering, and finance industries.
