Accountable Officers L.L.C. is a veteran-owned business founded by Andre Barnes Jr. Our mission is to serve multiple industries by developing a unique trucking rest area that offers a comprehensive range of amenities. Our primary goal is to build a 200-space trucking rest area with 10 showers, washers, dryers, a common lounge area, and two fully furnished kitchen areas for local mom-and-pop restaurants to rent. Additionally, we aim to create a holistic program focused on veterans, re-entry citizens, and at-risk youth, evolving into a self-sustaining community and city.

Problem

As a truck driver with six years of experience, I have observed that the trucking industry lacks sufficient, high-quality rest areas equipped with comprehensive facilities, leading to discomfort and inefficiency for drivers. Additionally, there is a significant need for programs that support veterans, re-entry citizens, and at-risk youth by providing vocational training and employment opportunities. Our business cannot thrive without a solution that ensures ongoing operations and community development.

Solution

Our trucking rest area will uniquely address the comfort and convenience needs of truck drivers by providing modern amenities and facilities. Furthermore, our holistic program will offer vocational training in fields such as technical training, CDL, carpentry, brick masonry, nursing, and HVAC. This dual approach serves both the trucking industry and broader social challenges.

Business Model

We generate revenue by:

• Charging $15 per night for parking (200 spaces).
• Leasing kitchen spaces to local restaurants.
• Providing laundry and shower services.
• Offering vocational training programs supported by grants and partnerships.

Competition

Existing truck stops and rest areas, such as Pilot Flying J and Love’s Travel Stops, provide some amenities but lack ourcomprehensive and community-focused approach. Our combination of modern facilities and vocational training programs sets us apart in the market.

Vision

Our vision is to create a network of trucking rest areas that serve the immediate needs of truck drivers while supporting community development through vocational training and employment programs. By expanding our model, we aim to develop self-sustaining communities and eventually cities, becoming a leading force in the industry and social entrepreneurship, cutting down poverty and crime along the way.

Traction

• Secured initial land purchase agreements for 6 acres to begin building.
• Established partnerships with local vocational training institutes.
• Completed preliminary designs for the trucking rest area.
• Received positive feedback from potential customers and stakeholders.

Funding Ask

We seek $5 million in funding to achieve our vision. This will cover the land purchase, construction of the rest area, initial operational costs, and development of the vocational training programs.

Projections

If successful, our model will result in:

• A fully operational trucking rest area generating significant revenue.
• A thriving vocational training program producing skilled workers.
• Expansion to additional locations, creating a network of rest areas and communities.
• Long-term sustainability and growth, contributing to both the trucking industry and societal well-being.

What’s Next

Our immediate next steps include finalizing land acquisition, commencing construction, and launching our marketing campaign to attract truck drivers and local businesses. We will also develop our vocational training curriculum and establish partnerships with additional stakeholders to ensure a smooth launch and sustainable growth.

Thank you for considering our proposal. We look forward to the opportunity to bring our vision to life and make a significant impact on the trucking industry and beyond.
