Hello,
My name is Evon Lebby.
At the top, it does say that this company was founded in 2020 but this has been in the making since 2010. Let me explain.
We know that the court system is backed up and the jails are overcrowded but we offer a service that keeps people out of jail to become more productive within the community they live in.
I need funding to advance to a brick and mortar building, be able to give the younger participants books and certificates, buy essentials needed for the business, stop working my full-time job to pursue this as a full-time love that I have, and be in the community more.
Company:
1st Source Defense is an educational / training / rehabilitative business that helps individuals by providing court-mandated classes for anger management, shoplifting and addiction, and parenting classes. Also, we have programs that focus on at-risk juveniles (Re-Directions) and children in grades K-5 (ABC Anti-Bullying Coalition).
Purpose of Re-Directions
The purpose of these guided classes are to serve the needs of the adolescent, teenage, and young adult participants considered to be “at-risk” and to also better understand their needs.
In these classes, youth gain self-awareness, make better decisions, are able to solve problems, be able to deal with different environments, become more in control of their life, and press themselves in a controlled environment.
-- The discussion group will be held in a non-competitive environment with no grading scale and everyone is treated equally.
-- The individuals in these groups will be acknowledged as participants and not students.
Participants will gain social skills through group interactions by…
A. Learning what they and the other participants have in common
B. Learning to listen
C. Gain experience in being able to talk openly
D. Become aware of how they are being seen by others (promoting healthy self-esteem)
E. Learning to de-escalate confrontations and issues that may arise
Who would benefit from this program?
1. Participants at-risk of dropping out of school
2. Participants with behavioral issues
3. Participants who are depressed or have signs of depression
4. Participants with “Adult Authority” issues
5. Teenage Parents
6. So-called “underachievers”
7. The gifted and talented
8. Participants in or returning from a juvenile facility
9. Participants in transition during family changes (ranging from death to divorce)
Purpose of ABC Anti-Bullying Coalition
The purpose of these classes is for children in grades K-5 to understand that bullying is wrong. I have created powerpoints and now am in the process of creating a coloring book for the class in which the kids can fully participate by reading what each alphabet means under the cloak of bullying. I began this program in 2015 by going to churches and having families ask if I could speak with groups. I have successfully had classes that contained classes of more than 40 children at a time. I have also been able to distribute certificates of completion for this program.
I want to be able to publish the manuals that I have personally created and get them to the participants and one day within the school system to become a part of the school curriculum.
Business Model:
I am determined to make my company go as far as it can with funding and community investing.
1. Key Partners - At this time it is just me that will be handling the classes and programs. Once the business picks up (which it will) I will invest and interview individuals with the same background and mindset as myself to making sure we are giving back to the community but making revenue in doing so.
2. Key Activities - Teaching classes, instructing programs, conducting evaluations, and offering other services. Provide community services (seminars, classes, programs)
3. Value Propositions - 1st Source Defense helps by making sure we're there when individuals make mistakes and after being given court-mandated pre-trial intervention (PTI) can get help through classes we provide so they do not have to sit in jail. They can be able to give back to the community and learn at the same time. Also, with at-risk juveniles, we can help by understanding what their needs are through the programs we provide.
4. Customer Relationships - We maintain contact with our clients through various methods:
- Phone calls
- Emails
-Zoom calls and classes
- In-Office meetings
5. Customer Benefits - We would be able to help:
- Individuals that go before a judge and are mandated to take some type of class for anger management, shoplifting, or addiction to shoplifting
- At-risk juveniles that are either in the department of juvenile justice, alternative, school, or exhibit signs listed above.
- Children in grades K-5 that are susceptible to bullying or being bullied
- Communities and law enforcement agencies that want to rebuild within themselves through classes and programs that concentrate on positive growth.
6. Key Resources - I bring knowledge of both sides (civilian and law enforcement). I see it as a plus with being an African American female that is determined on completing my education in a field where my business intertwine. I have enlisted that information within my credentials listed below.
7. Channels - The majority of the clients that I come in contact with have the knowledge of knowing me from law enforcement and being very active in the community). Clients can also find me via social media, through probation, parole, and pardon, and within other agencies that give information in companies that offer classes.
8. Cost - I have paid for everything out of pocket so far.

My Credentials:
I have been afforded the opportunity to become a Class I law enforcement officer in 2009 in the state of South Carolina.
At that time, I knew that working in the community was what I was called to do. Working as a patrol officer, school resource officer, and then taking on numerous roles as an investigator (burglary task force, crime scene, narcotics, special victims unit, sex offender registry) helped me determine what area within law enforcement my destiny would take me.
I found myself wanted to be with juveniles and helping them understand what they were going through could help them as they grew. I first started out at a regular high school as a school resource officer but was redirected and sent to an alternative school where I flourished with the kids. I found that teaching and instructing classes help them want to do better and the program I created had a turnover rate of 83% seeing that those students either went to college or to a trade school. I decided at that time to go to college myself and obtain a degree in criminal justice. I graduated from Claflin University in 2016 with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology, while some said that was enough, I kept going and received my Masters of Science in Criminal Justice, and now I am in my 3rd year getting my Ph.D. in criminal justice and emergency management. I decided to take a break from law enforcement and gain more knowledge in management and became a training supervisor at a Fortune 500 company. I have learned a lot about training and business acumen through classes and programs.
While in law enforcement I obtained numerous certifications for juvenile specifics, FEMA, CEPTED, CPR, Law enforcement certifications, plus many more. I also have obtained my certification as an anger management specialist. I am constantly learning and wanting to give back to the community what I have learned. I can be found on LinkedIn.
I would like to thank you for taking the time to look over my request. I truly appreciate you have
