My name is Robert Duncan, owner and president of Yankee Restorations LLC. I just wanted to introduce myself and give you a little background about myself and my company. I am a 4th generation construction company. My great grandfather started his residential home construction business in 1924. My grandfather, Stuart, took that over from his father then eventually transitioned into commercial construction building Shell and Arco gas stations all over greater New England. My Dad , George Scott, started his own construction business after my grandfather closed his business in the early 80's. I started with my Dad and grandfather at a very early age and started full time with my Dad right out of high school in 1988. I was groomed in all areas of construction. My Dad would put me with his various subcontractors one week a month to learn every trade I could which included, electrical, plumbing, rough and finish carpentry, cabinetry building, heavy equipment operation, crane operation, CDL Class A tractor trailer license, and so on. In 1999, unfortunately my Dad lost his business so I went into CATV lineman construction, fiber optic restoration and maintenance work until 2015. I still had my dream of owning my own construction business someday so in January of 2011, I decided to form Yankee Restorations working nights and weekends while working my regular job.  On  August 1, 2015,  I decided to go on my own and I never looked back. It's been a Dr rough road and I have learned a great deal over the years. I have learned to listen to gut feelings when making business decisions. No one is really your friend and people love to take advantage. This, I have learned the hard way and have made many mistakes because of it, especially trusting employees who you treat as friends. Last year we had three non-pay customers with invoices totally well around 106K. Two are still with lawyers and the other was settled but this started a chain of events that put us into a hole that we have been struggling to climb out of ever since. We have plenty of work coming down the pipeline into next year right now. I have been restructuring the company since January 1st hiring an entirely new staff of carpenters and helpers. My new crew is working 100% more efficiently and we are turning 30 to 40% profit margins again. Now that I have achieved running more efficiently and effectively,  I just need a helping hand to get us to the finish line. I worked too hard to quit now and will never give up.
So that's my story. I  have built a solid, reputable general construction business. We specialize in historical restorations, fine carpentry, custom kitchens and baths. I have great support within my network of sub-contractors who we work well with together and share the same vision.  I am looking for an investor who also sees  my vision of success for Yankee Restorations LLC.  Thank you.
