WEE (Wellness & Education for Everyone) Farm is A 501(c)3 Nonprofit Organization Providing animal-assisted learning, and agriculture education for a culture of health & wellbeing.

As an inner-city teacher, my doctorate research focused on trauma-informed learning and building resilience in youth. I created WEE Farm to be a safe place where ALL are welcome to learn and interact with animals and plants.  We believe that the human/animal bond is powerful and transformative. We believe that being surrounded by animals and nature can bring healing and growth for the urban youth who have not had the opportunity to experience it.

We have a beautiful dairy barn that needs rehab projects to be safe and friendly for visitors.  Fortunately, the barn is in excellent structural condition and has existing plumbing for a bathroom. However, the bathroom was very small and had severe water damage and mold. We have gutted the bathroom and would like to reinstall it as an ADA-accessible bathroom. The second and third floors need railings installed for safety. The first-floor barn ceiling has an old whitewash that desperately needs to be pressure washed and repainted with insect deterrent pain. Last, the old gutter system is boarded up and the boards are becoming cracked and spongy. We would like to remove these and fill the gutters with concrete to have a level floor that is much safer.  This beautiful barn is our main attraction to the farm and a community icon in our city neighborhood. Inside the barn, we have space to sell fresh produce and eggs at low cost providing access to farm fresh nutrition for our community. We also have space for pens of rescue animals- which are easily accessible to children and handicapped visitors to interact. Upstairs, we have space for fitness and educational learning opportunities.

With a safe urban farm space, we can create meaningful, life-changing experiences for thousands of children and animals, through human/animal interaction, and nature-based education.  A healing environment that will benefit both animals and youth.   And a broader parallel between human, animal, environmental, and societal well-being.  We have the education, the experience, the programs, and the drive.  We just need the funding.  Will you help us?
