As a nonprofit, Veterans Intellectual Property's mission is to provide discounted patenting services at no cost to veterans, active duty members, and military dependents. We are able to do this through the generosity of donors like you.

We supply world-class services from attorneys who specialize in patents, and we offer pro bono counsel to help inventors understand the benefits of patenting their ideas.

Our work is important because it helps level the playing field for veterans and active duty members who have great ideas but may not have the resources to protect them. We are proud to be able to offer our services at no cost to those who have served or are serving our country.

Intellectual Property law is a tool that protects artists from people who might steal their work and use it to benefit themselves. There are different intellectual property laws in different countries and many artists are unaware of their rights under the law.

The most common form of intellectual property protection is the copyright. When an artist sets out to create a work, he or she invents new ideas and characters. The creation is their intellectual property and it is not just any one’s right to use it. 

The creator can protect their intellectual property by taking specific steps, including registering the creation with the government and keeping a record of who has access to it in case of an infringement.
