Andrew Carnegie once said, “Ninety percent of all millionaires become so through owning real estate. More money has been made in real estate than in all industrial investments combined.
Jim Rushton, who works with the Stratum Real Estate Group and is the president of the Iron County Board of Realtors, said that he’s noticed there is a low supply of affordable housing in Southern Utah, partly due to the area’s population growth. This has forced those who would have bought to rent instead, driving up rental prices.
Millennial home buyers “are having a tough time” in particular due to high-interest rates and an anti-growth sentiment, among other factors, Rushton said, adding that people aged 23-38 have a 43% homeownership rate – 22 points below the overall national rate.
Cedar City is surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, including nearby national parks, such as Zion, Bryce Canyon, and Cedar Breaks National Monument. Outdoor enthusiasts flock to the area for its exceptional hiking, mountain biking, and rock climbing opportunities
Cedar City’s economy is diverse and robust. The city’s strategic location along major transportation routes, including I-15, provides businesses with convenient access to regional and national markets. The city’s pro-business environment, supportive infrastructure, and skilled workforce make it an ideal location for entrepreneurs and companies looking to establish or expand their operations.
