Reason for Product Design
Why do puppies chew?
- They are Teething - When it comes to teething, puppies are just like human babies.
- When puppies are 3 months up to 8 months of age, their teeth are coming in and their gums are sore much like human babies - puppies like to put her mouth on something to help deal with the pain.
- Chewing can become a kind of stress relief, an activity that they do when they’re bored or a little anxious.
- Adult dogs may engage in destructive chewing for any number of reasons
I am trying to get funds to obtain more Golden’s to aid in the treatment of children.
I would also like to place a dog in the courts as a court dog and also in Children Rehabilitation Services.
Nick's Heroes: Woman helps people access therapy dogs
Alex Warren trains therapy dogs and gives up her free time to make sure kids going through trauma have access to this life-changing therapy.
PHOENIX — Don't let his size fool you!
"Wrigley has a wonderful personality. He's very loving and calming and very gentle," says Alex Warren, who works at the Jewish Family and Children's Services center in Central Phoenix.
But perhaps the biggest part of Wrigley is his heart.
Warren couldn't agree more! In addition to working for the JFCS, she also trains therapy dogs and gives up her free time to make sure kids going through trauma have access to this life-changing therapy.
"When you meet Wrigley, you'll see how he just can reach out and he can reach your heart and he can help all those children who need him."
Warren has been training dogs for 20 years and is absolutely - and "pawsitivley" - in love, but this calling sort of came by surprise.
"I'm a breast cancer survivor and it was actually a therapy dog that diagnosed my breast cancer," Warren said.
From that moment, Warren made it her mission to make sure everyone has access to special dogs like Wrigley.
A co-worker tells us, "Alex is really the heart beat behind Wrigley and behind our mission and healing lives. We've seen she will go above and beyond to heal lives and train dogs that impact and bring so much affection."
And Alex Warren, that is why you are one of Nick's Heroes!
