Dear Investor,
I am a brain tumor survivor making a documentary showing the research, funding needs, and patient care of brain tumors in the US. My co-producer, Jeffery Hart (www.jeffreyhart.com), and I plan to sell a multi-episode film to public television or a streaming service. We are requesting $5,000 to produce a trailer, and start-up costs.
Most of the filming, which we hope will start in later this year, will take place at the McKnight Brain Institute on the campus of the University of Florida.
Doctors, researchers, social workers, patients and their families (to name a few) will share their stories and experiences. The film will put faces on a little understood disease.
The underlying theme is the disparity in funding for the disease: there has not been a new treatment in 40 years, despite being the leading cause of cancer deaths in Americans under the age of 19.
