Southern Chicago Restaurant is founded by Xavier Vance, Executive Chef and Serial Entrepreneur Troy Vivrett. Xavier and Troy have teamed up to add to Chicago’s legacy of southern cuisine that has always been a cornerstone of the city’s food culture. Southern Chicago Restaurant is a 5,000sf Upscale Southern American restaurant that seats 275 indoors and 100 outdoors. The restaurant also has a 2,000sf private event space for weddings, social gatherings, and corporate events.

Southern Chicago is Located at 2000 S. Wabash Ave, in the heart of Chicago’s South Loop. The area hosts North America’s largest convention center, McCormick Place, Soldier Field (home of the Chicago Bears) and 3 of Chicago’s Museums. Serving southern favorites, paired with fine wine and cocktails, Southern Chicago’s mission is to work together to provide people with an experience that is elevated beyond the ordinary. We will strive to provide an adaptable environment where employees and guests alike will create great memories, enjoy the moment, and make anticipated plans.

Southern breakfast may be America’s most authentic native cuisine; crave-worthy dishes perfected over decades to fill the eater with a sense of well-being, comfort, and satisfaction – with a bit of spice added in. Though southern breakfast has historically made use of inexpensive ingredients, the resulting flavors result in a meal fit for a king, which has inspired a new breed of southern restaurants around the nation that have taken soul food to its rightful place in the fine- dining restaurant landscape. Restaurants like Busy Bee Café in Atlanta, Peaches HotHouse in Brooklyn, Feed in Chicago, Twisted Soul Cookhouse & Pours in Atlanta, Junebaby in Seattle, and The Screen Door in Portland have taken soul food and given it the luxury environment, branding, and trappings that it deserves, and in doing so, attracted customers willing to stand in lines around the block.

Southern Chicago will be just such a place, serving upscale southern breakfast paired with fine cocktails in Chicago. The Company will establish a location in Chicago’s upscale South Loop area, in addition to offering catering services. Southern Chicago will be open seven days a week, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. most days, with extended hours until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Sundays. Southern Chicago was founded during the pandemic as a single-plate catering business, which was well received by the customer base.
