“In The Valley” Feature Film

IN THE VALLEY is a heartbreaking tale that draws the parallels of queerness in different eras while fusing various genres. This arthouse abduction film pays homage to the 60’s & 70’s exploitation universe while keeping the audience falling in love and holding on to the edge of their seats. This film is a love letter to my home away from home, the deserts of the west. The film will explore love and the extraterrestrial terror of being queer: the world and universe always watching you. The film will combine the retro outerworld beauty of the desert and the erotic rich history of the Cowboy and Tom of Finland art. Psychedelic visuals will serve as the act breaks, and hint at the abduction taking place. We intend to shoot on a RED camera with zoom lenses and breathtaking wides that absorb the desert's landscape, using colors such as red, orange, purple, and green to create a world at once alien and warm. The camera will play as an observer—just like an alien—watching this haunting love story unfold. A queer suspense film, IN THE VALLEY is designed with the love and visuals of Argento and Lynch at its core.  This film touch’s on suspense, extraterrestrial, and horror which each of these genres   has a deep and passionate following. It is also an LGBTQ film that sheds light on struggles from the past and lessons that are as  important now as they were decades ago. Our team is comprised of dedicated film lovers with years of experience working in the industry and spear-headed by our multitalented visual mastermind, Adam Van Dyke. With the right funding, it is a sure bet that this film will gain recognition, establish a loyal fan base, and demand more!  This investment will be used to fund the shoot of the production, post production costs, and film distribution on the festival circuit.
